hi all, my name is Jacinta and we have 3 boys, now i really desperately would love a girl, but when do i stop, im tired plus im getting old, so should i keep trying untill i get her or just face the fact that i will not get her, just the thought of being pregnant again is killing me,
should i just go for baby no 5 incase this baby is a boy again?
please ladies be honest, what would you do, ever since i was 13 when my sister got married and she had her daughter i knew that one day id have my own little precious girl, but it hasnt happened,
i stil love my boys regardless and they are my life and the air that i breath but apart of me feels an empty spot?
so i just need advice from honest ladies out there and sorry if i spellet something wrong, i havent checked my spelling before submitting it, im way to tired to read it all over?

now i could be worrying for nothing, this could be a girl, but i have feeling its a boy anyway even so i do have morning sickness which with my boys i never did, but it doesnt really matter, ive heard of girls having morning sickness for all their kids, boys and girls,
plus my friends aunt who apperently can predict what your having without even knowing you, all she needs is a name and what you do have already and she can tell you what your having, i told my friend i didnt want to know but she told me she said i was having boy,
well atleast i have boys name and all the clothes etc,
am i going nuts, i think my hormones are going crazy aswell?

oh jacinta im so sorry i hope you get your girl.... i have lots of friends in your position, one who had 3 boys and stopped trying, her pregnancies were REALLY hard on her body.... another friend who has like 4 or 5 boys already and is preg and terrified to find out its another boy
it would be nice if we could pickwhat we got...

Hi, Jacinta. I hope all is going well with your current pregnancy, and that the rest of your family is doing well.
About your question; If I were you, I would have a serious sit-down with myself and ask 'WHY?' it is so important for me to have a girl. It is very important not to let your current children in on the fact of how desperately you wish for one, either. I know you've heard stories about girls who've grown up feeling inadequate because they werent' the son their fathers wanted, well, the same can happen to your son unless you are very careful.
You said that pregnancy has been very hard on you. Is it worth going through that pain and strain again on the off chance that you 'might' have a girl? You've got a 50/50 shot here, so ultimately only you can decide, but please keep in mind that putting your own health and that of your family at risk just to fulfill a childhood dream isn't necessarily the wisest course of action.
You also may be worrying needlessly. You could have a little girl cooking in there at this very moment :)
Above all, keep in mind that children are blessings, no matter the sex, and even if you aren't blessed with a daughter of your own, your sons will hopefully get married one day and give you 'daughter-in-love's', and maybe even granddaughters, who you can spoil to your hearts content, then send them HOME!

| Honey I know how you feel!!!! I have a 10, 8, and 6 year old lil boy and I am pregnant now with a lil GIRL!!!! I think I was even more stressed than you and I just prayed about it and the night before my 2nd ultraxound, I went through all the clothes I had already and just cried. I got all the lil girlthings and put them in a bag just in case I was having a boy I was gonna throw them away. I cried all night and then when I went in to find out I was too scared to even know....but something came over me and I knew that I would love this child whether it was a girl or a boy cause God blessed my family again with another angel. The lady asked me if I wanted to know and I said yes waiting for her to say boy and she shocked me!!!! She said girl, I saw all her lil business on the screen too...lol....I cried and laughed ...lol...I didn't even want to get off the table. i dont know what im having, my heart wants a girl, the pregnacy is different, i dream its a boy, so therefore i feel its a boy, God has already blessed me with 3 gorgeous boys who i would die for,

| jacinta....i know people arent supposed to ask this, but how old are you? i feel weird asking because im sure your older than me and i respect my elders..not that your old..=D..anyhow, im 18 years old..my mother is 38. (i just had my first baby) but anyhow...my mom has 3 boys also and since divorced their father. she has been with her new husband for about 6 years now and they want another little boy to carry on his name. shortly after they got married my mom was pregnant with a girl, which now my sister is 2. my mom is pregnant again, hoping for a boy still....nope...another girl. theyre happy because its a new baby but she said that they arent going to give up just yet. so no, i dont think you should stop if thats what your heart tells you. my mother will most likely be 40 by time she gets pregnant again....good luck and keep us posted on what the sex of your baby is..are you finding out? ↑ |

hi Heather, im 36 in my 12th week...
my 6yr old seems to think were having a girl, hes 100% sure on it and cals it Mariah, i believe it will be a boy though, only around 5% of me thinks its a girl cause of my strange dreams of it being a boy yet everyone sees it as a girl, its really weird, anyhow, if it is aboy, i will ost probably give up on trying for a girl, im happy for your Mom that shes trying untill she gets a boy, i pray she does..

i dont think i will find out what im having, but my hubby and mother want to find out though,
whats the Creighton method, ill look it up, but only problem is i have no idea on when i ovulated, all i can say id the first day of my last period was december 10 and they finished on 13th...

my cycle was always 31 days, and always lasted of 3days worth of period..
anyway im hopeless when it comes to ovulating etc,

You are not hopeless about understanding when you ovulated, just undereducated about it as most women today are.
Women always get their period 14 to 16 days after ovulation unless conception has occurred.
If it is indeed true that you had a consistent 31 day cycle, this makes it possible to narrow down the days of ovulation. According to what you told me, you had your period last December 10th to the 13th. This means you would have been expecting your next period January 19th. Am I correct?
If this is correct we can count back 14 and 16 days which means you ovulate either January 3rd, 4th, or 5th. Going from this understanding, if you had sex 4 to 5 days preceding these dates, then you have a higher chance of having a girl. If you had sex the day of ovulation or the day after ovulation, then the chance of you having a boy is higher.
Now it’s more common for a woman to get her period 14 days before her period, then it is 15 or 16. But some women are 15 or 16 days. The neat thing is that whatever the number of days it is for a woman, it is consistent with her. For instance, I always ovulate exactly 14 days before my period.
So if we assume that your body is along the lines of most women’s bodies, the dates of sex for a higher chance for a girl are January 1st through the 5th. This is not a guarantee, but studies have shown that the sperm that carries the male chromosome is usually faster then the sperm that carries the female chromosome, so it can greet an already released egg faster then the sperm that carries the female chromosome. However the sperm that carries the male chromosome dies quicker so it usually cannot wait for the ovaries to release an egg, whereas the sperm that carries the female chromosome can live longer in the fallopian tube and wait for the egg to be release by the ovary.
I hope I explained this well.
The Creighton method is a way of discerning when you ovulate by looking at your mucous daily. There is fertile mucous and infertile mucous. So check into this method for after you have your baby, and maybe you can use it to help you get your girl the next time around also. It’s official name is “Creighton Model FertilityCare System”.
As for you being to old, I don’t think so at all. I know women who have had babies in their late 30’s and in their 40’s with no problems at all. ↑ |

i was expecting Jan 10th, i counted back 14/16 days which i calculated i ovulated around dec 26/27,
i sort of remember lol when we had sex, im pretty sure one time was definatelty day after Christmas, New years eve and new new years day lol, im not sure if you can figure it out lol, my friend told me about looking at the mucous daily but shes just 3 months late on telling me,

| Jacinta I had the same problem and decided to stop having children and just live with the fact that I will never have a daughter. When much to my surprise I ended up pregnant once again and I just assumed it would be another boy and didn't get my hopes up. Of course the first 3 ultrasounds the lil stinker was crossing it's legs and wouldn't show itself but finally the 4th ultrasound revealed that this is definitely a girl!!! So don't lose all hope, if it is in God's plan you will have a girl and maybe when you least expect it. Good luck! ↑ |

My 1st of last period was dec 10th and Im pretty sure we concieved Dec 24th, over Christmas and New year i remeber I was instantly sick, Is that too soon?

Jan 10 my periods never arrived and Jan 16 i found out was Pregnate, but only just as positive line was faint,
