I just tested positive on a home pregnancy test. This will be #2. We had a hard time getting pg with our daughter, and used clomid. It worked the 1st time! Because it took so long, I quit playing hockey right away. I'm not as willing to give it up this time around! I love playing too much! I've played for 4 years now, and there is no contact. I'm a good skater too. Thinking that i won't play much past the 12 week mark. Any advise?

what advice are you looking for? you said you arent willing to give it up so i think you already made up your mind. I think if I was you I would ok it with my doc first before. Most of the time the doc will say its ok to keep up with whatever exercise you were doing before you got pregnant as long as your at no risk of misscarriage. Definately get docs opinion first. You dont want to harm the baby in any way so be careful.

I played floor hockey as well and when I first found out I was pregnancy I decided to play until I was 12 weeks. Well...let me tell you...I played for two weeks when I first found out...when I was about 4 and 5 weeks pregnant. I was paranoid that I would get hit and hurt the baby...

My mother called me the day after I told her and scolded me on the phone for continuing to play. There is a big chance you could take a stick, elbow or anything else to the stomache and cause harm to your baby. Do you really want that? I consulted my b/f's mother next who told me the same thing. I then decided to quit playing even though I loved it because my baby means the world to me and that's just one thing I can do to prove it.

Since then I have consulted my Doctor and she too agreed that hockey is much too rough and risky to play while pregnant.

My suggestion is do not. Find something else that's much more gentle to pass your time physically.
