I am currently 15 weeks preg. We currently have 1 child (9 yo when the baby is due). My husband and I are currently talking about who should get "fixed", My last child was delivered by "c-section". The Doctor has already have told me that the birth will probably be a c-section, because of my size. Im really really short. I was wondering if its easier for me to have my tubes tide when i am open already for the birth or have my husband come back later...My husbands is willing to do this. What's everyones opinion??

Hello I just recently had my third child c-section and i got my tubes tide during the c-section. The only thing that was different is the c-section was about 5 or 10 minutes longer than the rest of them. I had no other pain just the norm. It is alot easier for us to get fixed than men.

It is only easier for the women to get fixed if she is having a c-section because they can do it then and there. but if her birth was natural then she has to go back weeks later for the surgery so it really is actually easier for the man. The procedure is much less complicated for him. If you already know you are having a section thn I would say go for it and you have it done, if not then definatly let your husband do it.

I think is so sad how doctors have convinced women that they are too small to do something God created us perfectly to do. A lot of short women have babys vaginally and that goes for skinny one and all other shapes and sizes. Our bones spread during labor allowing enough room for the child to pass through. I strongly reccommend reading Silent knife before you have your baby. you might want to consider swithiching to a midwife as well. Hope you can have a successful VBAC. take care

My friend had her tubes tied after her vaginal birth. She just had baby #3 and they went through her belly button, I believe. It's easier then because everything is so accessible and higher up because of your expanded uterus. I would do it right after birth because you already will be in discomfort and have pain meds, might as well get it all done at the same time, if you want to get your tubes tied.

My doctors wont to it right after a vaginal birth. I guess every doctor is different. If they were willing to do it after a vaginal I would definately have it done then.

I just had my forth baby March 13th by c section and I got my tubes tied then. It seemed to make sense instead of my husband going to get it done, since the Dr was right there. The recovery was no different than a regular c section. It's nice to never have to think about birth control again! Good luck

I'm thinking about getting my tubes tied. Are there different types of procedures?

I would suggest getting them tied if you are sure that is what you want if you are having a c section, if it is a vaginal birth your man should get fixed they are in and out in 15 minutes and only takes them 2 days max to recover. If you have vaginal birth, then you need to have major surgery to get yourself fixed and healing time is longer then men. But it your already open go for it :) Just My Opinion.

I had my tubes ties following a c-section. I think you should do it since you will already be in the position to do so. What is the sense in having your husband go through it if they can simply do your tubes right after you give birth?
