Is it wrong that I don't want to take the things offered to me by my BF's sisters? The thing is they keep saying "oh you can BORROW my car seat", or ," you can BORROW my bassinet." I don't see the point in borrowing their stuff... I might as well buy them myself so I don't have to worry about returning them once I'm done... Or having to go buy new for my second child... Also one sister has a 7 year old and has had the bassinet since he was born... It's just a plain white one with no special features... I don't need one with ALL the bells and whistles, but I at least want one with a drop down side... Anyways has anyone else had this problem?

Borrowing I wouldn't like.

My sister has given me some things but never with the notion of me having to return them. If they want them back you should buy your own.

Also... I really don't like the patterns... I'm having a boy and although there aren't flowers or anything the car seat and stroller look to "girly" for me... I want something more neutral...

Are you kidding! My sister talked me into buying her baby boy clothes that had been handed down from both of her boys. I can't believe I was stupid enough to pay $40 for her used clothes. I was just so excited being a new mom that I thought I needed everything. I would buy my own stuff if I were you, but if this is your first then wait until after the baby shower, cause you will probably get a lot of stuff. I had a shower in college, church, by my mom, and sister-in-law. When you have baby #2, you get a few gifts, and baby #3 nothing. So save all your stuff, and when you are done having kids, sell all the stuff in a yard sell (don't give it away), cause you will still need new stuff for your kids.

Oh, and by the way, my sister to this day still wants me to buy hand me downs from her, but I am not stupid anymore. She did let me borrow a swing, but it was a pain taking care of it and keeping that big thing around the house for two years. I sold it for her and now I need one for this baby. Anyway, Good luck.
