Ok so I feel dumb for asking, but can you just wash all the clothes together? I'm having a girl so there is lots of pink and I don't want to turn everything pink but most stuff is pink and white. If I wash everything in cold will that stop any of it from bleeding? Or do I still need to try and seperate the clothes as much as possible?

Not a dumb question at all.... I always washed the baby stuff seperate for the first couple of months anyway. I also used baby detergent like Dreft. After the kids got older, and messier, the Dreft just wasn't getting stuff clean, so I switched to Tide...

I washed everything together. White,s navys, reds. Nothing has run at all. I use the lavender and vanilla detergent with baby oxy clean powder added to get all the baby scuz out.

I was just going to buy Dreft for the first month or two just to be safe then use Tide. My hubby has really sensitve skin and it seems like Tide is the only thing that doesn't make him break out so I bet it will be fine for the baby too.

Kaden did too in the beginning we thought. It turned out it was just the harsh hospital detergent. He got boils immediately. When we got him home though he has used whatever I use. He is totally fine, maybe a little girly...

I used Dreft first, but then discovered Purex Baby for about a fourth of the price ($2.99 here). It works well. For stains, I use either OxiClean Baby or Biz. The trick with stains (poop, food, spit-up) is to get the clothes off the baby right away and soak them for about a day. Formula stains are horrible to get out because you don't always notice them, and then once you wash and dry the clothes, it's too late:(

what does formula do to clothes?

if its real light pink, cold water shoud be enough. but, i would just keep the whites separate just in case. you don't want them to start looking dull.

OH, AND FORMULA STAINS THE HELL OUT OF BABY CLOTHES....AND THE SPIT UP WITH THE FORMULA IN IT TOO!

Hell breast milk stains too... It's the poop that's the worst.. My daughter used to have blow outs every time... And my son barfed everytime I fed him... I hate laundry...

Formula and breastmilk both leave a yellowish stain on clothes that you never see until you're out in public lol!! And poop is so hard to get out of the seam of onesies, and sometimes you don't realize it's there until after you're folding the laundry.

I always wash Anika clothes all together, except for the reds. Reds are separate. and if I need to bleach some whites then obviously i do those separately. and always in cold water. I use Ivory Snow for her clothes.

I separated all of mine, because I was worried about the pinks bleeding into the whites. I also got kind of a lot of darker stuff too --
I got a thing of All baby for one of my showers, and that's what I've been using to pre wash it all, and when that goes, I'll probably get Tide free & clear or something like that. I use regular Tide for us, but I've heard you should use something either made for baby or something "free" to avoid reactions to dyes and scents

I suggest you keep your clothes and the babies seperate. Simply because you could have anything in and on your clothes that could wash off into the babies..and give her a allergic reacton

They are so so sensitive to that kinda of stuff. And you shouldnt be using normal washing detergent either for a baby. Some like Lux Flakes you disolve in warm water..so its dont harsh on the babies skin.

The first couple of times I washed them seperately, but now I was all the clothes together! And my suggestion would be not to purchase the high priced Dreft but if you want something dye/fragrance free get something like ALL Free its cheaper and your whole family can use it!
