I am doing mine at 6 1/2 months.. and I've been told that is pretty early. My neice did hers at 8 months. I think that 7 1/2 or 8 months is a little more average.
It's your shower though, and I think you could really do it whenever it works for you. ↑ |
With my son I had my baby shower when I was 7 months. With my currant pregnancy I had my baby shower at 6 months. Anytime between now and your due date would be fine. Some people even wait until the baby is born to have a shower. ↑ |
I had mine at the beginning of my 8th month. This way I still had two months to get anything I needed. It has given us plenty of time. I wanted mine later because I wanted to "look" pregnant in all my shower pictures. I've been showing since about 8 weeks but I just love the idea of pics of my big pregnant belly. I love scrapbooking so I wanted those pictures. Plus we couldn't have ours any later due to the holiday season. I'm due on December 21. ↑ |
If I were you, I would do it in Feb. Maybe even around valentines day. You could do some kind of theme with it. This way it will be a little bit after the holiday season and people will be okay with having to buy more gifts. Just a thought. ↑ |
I was wondering the same thing my self. I am due march 24th. I don't want to do it too close to the holidays, but I want to have it early enough to get everything together and get the stuff that we will still need. Plus if it is too close to the due date I know that I will be tired and most likely crankey. I am thinking end of jan begining of feb for me. ↑ |
I'm having my shower when I am 31 weeks. We are having it November 11th actually and I am due January 15th---we wanted to have it early enough before holiday buying time also. I will be throwing my Sis-in-Law a shower and she is due April 14th---I'll probably have it late February. ↑ |
I actually had a co-ed shower and I loved it. My husband liked it as well. It gives the dad a part in all of it. He helped make the baby so why shouldn't he be involved. And boy was it a help to me. My back was hurting during most of the shower even when I was just sitting there opening small gifts. So when it came to the big stuff he opened it and that was a life saver.
Oh and something really nice that my mom did, was on the invitation she put a poem about people bringing a book for the baby and signing the inside of it instead of a card this way the baby will always know who gave it to them and a card usually only gets looked at once. Just a neat idea. ↑ |
I also have a sister in law who is due early February BUT she lives in Japan. Any ideas on having a joint shower so she can be included? I was thinking of a card and $$ shower on the side for her so the gifts could be shipped to her easily but it seems a little impersonal, I'm sure she won't feel up to traveling for quite a while. ↑ |
Well if you did that at your shower, what about having a tape made for her. Have someone bring a cam corder and record some kind of message to her and the baby. I know it isn't the same but it might make her feel good knowing everyone is thinking of her as well and just send it with all the cards and money. ↑ |
I am due Feb. 28th and my family is in another state so we are having it nov 11th before the weather gets bad in the mountains. So i think any time after 6 months is good. ↑ |
I'm due April 13 and having my shower March 3. So that's almost 8 months. ↑ |
