I KNOW this has been posted somewhere before but... in light of NOT dragging out old posts.... Just wondering if anyone knows when you can actually start to tell what color a babies eyes will be. My daughter will be a month old on Thursday and.... her eyes are still that newborn navy blue. Anyone know when you can start to tell what color eyes they will have? THANKS!! :D

if you child is white it could be a few weeks or months after he/she is born before you know for sure, becuae many white babies are born with blue eyes that change later on.

usually you can tell by six months, but somtimes it can take even a year or more.

Yah, I was hoping my daughter's eyes will be blue too. Doesn't really matter I guess but my first daughter is a real ringer for my fiance w/ his exact eyes (hazel). I was hoping that this one would have mine (blue). :D

they say blue is the dominant color when it comes to hazel and brown being in the picture. my eyes are still that navy grey blue from birth they never changed, my dad had blue eyes my mom had hazel. same with scotts parents. so thankfully our kid is going to have some blonde or red hair with blue eyes. but yeh theres a thing oinline i read saying blue eyes are dominant.

well you both have a brown gene in there so you never know. It think that it is a 1 in 4 chance of getting blue eyes when you have a parent with brown and a parent with blue. three ways that the gene matches up can cause brown eyes and one way that they can match up will cause blue eyes. I think I learned that some place during school LOL

I know they say all babies are born with blue, but what about African American babies? My baby is going to be 3/4 white and 1/4 African American, I suppose she could stlll have blue, but I have no idea, my husbands are green.

That is a pretty cool site, I can't remember my husbands moms eye color, so I tried it with blue and brown, and so my baby has a 50/50 chance of blue or green.

Well all I know is two blue eyed parents can only have blue eyed babies... so if you were both blue eyed you would know for sure.. i have big brown eyes and my partner had bright blue eyes.. My brown eyes are very dominent in my family but my son ended up with his dads blue eyes.. blue beats brown... lol..

meagan it is not true that two blue eyed parents will have blue eyed kids because you both have recessive genes...it all come down to genetics which is very complicated...

and blue doesnt beat brown brown is the dominant gene, just like yall may be surprised to know that curly hair is dominant as opposed to straight because even a wave in the hair is counted as curly instead of straight, sorry i love genetics.

My daughter had crystal blue eyes for about 1 year....I was certain they were going to be blue. It looked like she was wearing contact lenses.....now they are green
