I am too, trying to troubleshoot my car. I bought one of those repair manuals today but that was pointless because it doesnt even mention the part im having a problem with.

Hey ladies. I don't even know what to say about your car s2bm... I just take it to a garage lol

well see I know whats wrong, but nobody knows how to fix it lol. Its got something wrong with the sport drive (switch on shifter thingie). I knew it had this problem when I bought it, but I have yet to see it happen. It apparently can just screw up in the middle of the road, causing you to have to shift manually (automatic transmission). Its not the transmission because thats been checked, its something electrical that we cant figure out.

Oh well, my cousin (who I bought it from) said it only happens sometimes anyway. She said it's just more annoying than anything else. I guess for $1500 I cant ask for much more, its in otherwise great mechanical condition

I have never heard of that problem. My cars have always been standard though. Our new truck is automatic, but it has the shifter on the steering wheel, not on the floor.

I dont know it could be a number of things. It could be a loose cable, could be a simple fuse, could be the computer, could be my cousin's imagination (since I have yet to see it). Whatever it is, its not mechanical so I guess thats a good thing.

Could it be dangerous? If not, then who cares. As long as it's ok for you and your baby.

All it does is make the engine rev high and you have to shift it manually (drive to 3rd to 2nd etc.) At least thats what she said, I will know what to do when it happens though. I am reading through where people have asked questions about it but I am not seeing any answers!! I guess nobody else knows exactly what causes it either. It sounds like a flaw with the car itself since so many do the same thing.

The few answers i've found are the same - Transmission Control Module. Or in other words, the computer. Which apparently is easily replaced with a used one from a junk yard or something.

Aha well I know why is hasnt done it yet. I just read that disconnecting the battery for a while will cause it to reset and maybe fix it. Well it sat for about 9 months before I just bought it, so the battery was dead for a while. I guess i'll just wait and see if it happens, and if it does ill try to replace the part

Well I would have prefered a manual myself as well, but it was a gift I cant complain lol. I guess i'll just have to wait and see it happen before I can do anything about it. Until it does happen I guess ill just not let my fingers get anywhere near the switch on the gear shifter. Maybe if I dont mess with it it wont mess back lol.

It's been checked at a transmission shop and they said its fine - no problems. Its just something electrical.

Name: Coartney | Date: Apr 11th, 2007 4:55 AM
haha goodluck with that.

Name: Coartney | Date: Apr 11th, 2007 4:55 AM
electrical wouldnt cause the tranny to rev. like i said, it could be the converter. and just b.c a diagnostics test cant pick it up doesnt mean there is nothing wrong.
