I am 23 weeks this week actually technically headed into week 24. I cannot get comfortable, when i am up and moving around my back is fine whenever I sit or lay down to go to sleep or at the computer or something within five minutes I am in pain is this normal ? it's usually on one side or the other , if i am watching t.v or something i just get up and stretch or whatever and this takes it away for a moment but if i am sleeping i really want to sleep i try the pillow between the legs you name i have probably done it. I know its the increasing pressure on the front , but i was just seeing if you ladies had any suggestions.

I suffer from sciatica and let me tell you when that pain kicks in there is nothing to dull it. I'm 33.5 weeks and my dr. prescribed muscle relaxers b/c the pain was debilitating...I actually had to use a wheel chair when we went grocery shopping. The thing about back pain is that it comes and goes. Try a warm bath of course...take a heating pad and apply it to the tender area for 15 min and then apply a cold compress for another 15 min...repeat this 4 times. Sit with a pillow behind your back, and never sit or stand for more than 30 min w/ out changing positions. I really hope you start to feel better.

thanks ladies , part of the problem is I have TMJ its related to a problem in the Jaw but when it flares up it can cause any number of problems on the side of the body it effects. Usually for me its headaches , my arm hurts from the shoulder to the fingers and of course aches in the jaw area and thats it. However the pain in my back is sometimes in the lower are and the other time in that area so i think it could be a TMJ thing i have a reguluar sports gaurd i wear at night for it , but i need a more formal diagnoses plus a better mouth gaurd, braces would help to of cours i didn't have medical until i got married and then i got pregnant and they can't do anything , because a work up requires x-rays
