I don't remember when I first started getting them, but I think it was around 20 weeks. They were kind of exciting at first, but now they are a pain in the ass, not really painful, but I feel like I'm going to pee my pants every time I get on now (I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow)

i've never felt one. my doc said i was having one during my 32 week appt but i didn't feel it at all. In fact, I am 40 weeks today and have yet to feel a single contraction. This baby is staying in for the long haul I guess ;)

I had them starting around 30 weeks, I think. lately it's been more frequent ...but I'm almost done, so I think that's common.

angel - when are you due? it freaks me out that i've not felt them ever. not that i want to feel contractions during labor and delivery but i also don't want to never feel them and have the baby in the bedroom. ha ha ha. but that did just happen to a friend of mine in calif. it was her fourth baby though so i know they tend to come quicker..

i think i did a few nights ago, but not sure, but im 35 weeks prego, 27 might be too early, even though its possible!

Marti, I'm due the 15, and scheduled for inducing on the 17 if she doesn't come on her own this weekend. Don't worry though -- not everyone gets BH -- and I'm not positive i have....I just think that's what they are. I haven't felt any real contrax, but I'm already 4 cm and 75% effaced...so my uterus has obviously been doing something productive

its not too early lauren..im 28 weeks and i getthem and some people get them as early as 20 weeks

4cm? No fair. You have a productive uterus :) I am due today and am 0cm. Nothing's happening. Luckily I'm not in a huge rush and I've always thought the due date was off by a week...Good luck to you this weekend!

well its possible, but ive never felt them, specially at 27 weeks

Marti, I've been dilating since 36 weeks -- I scared my doc when he checked me then b/c I was already at 2 -- he thought I was going to have her really early! Obviously that didn't work out, as I'm still sitting here pregnant...thanks for the luck!

Yeh they checked me yesterday - which by the way does it have to be so painful when they do that? - and the doc was like oh, let's hope you're dilated to at least 2. Yeh. Nada. She told me to drink lots of water, walk alot and have a lot of sex to get things moving. Yeh. I'm retaining water, have a cold and feel like a beached whale - nothing is sexier than that. :)

lol, my nurse told me she was surprised the doc didn't tell me to have sex...but he mentioned walking too. Today's the first day it's actually been nice enough to think about walking though...it's been cold and raining all week.

i usually walk every night but it's been rainy here this week and i've got a bad cold. i'll go tonight though. and i'm telling the husband he has to put out ;) Ha ha ha.

haha, good luck with that! Is he excited about the baby coming? Mine is, and I think that's been about all I had to do -- just tell him it might make me go into labor :)

Name: Marti | Date: Apr 13th, 2007 6:59 PM
Yeh he's excited but freaked out about labor. He is sure that we won't make it to the hospital in time and wants to go the minute I feel anything. Ha ha ha.

just to add, I agree that sex sometimes help jump starts labor but it is actually climaxing that causes your uterus to Contract the most so if hubby hits the right spots you never know. good luck and at most hopefully the sex is awesome :)

Oh i'll let him know he's got some added pressure to perform WELL :)

I think that's a common feeling among daddies to be -- mine's worried he'll be at work, and won't make it home to get me to the hospital. I just keep telling him I'll feel contractions long before I need to be at the hosp., and we'll be fine.

when I was in labor with my son my Dh was at work, his brother had to go get him ...it was kind of funny but he was happy he made it although it took me 2 more days to actually have the baby...It was still great, trust me you usually can find them, most of us have cell phones. My Friend just had her baby and her hubby was at work, she called him on his cell, mind you he is a teacher and he was in class. He ran to the office to let them know and hurried to the hospital.

OH -- the other thing that could work is reminding him that he's not gonna get it for 6 weeks after the baby is born, so he better not miss any opportunity now :)

Yeh it's sweet really. He's also freaked about seeing me in any sort of pain.

Name: Angelcecilia2 | Date: Apr 13th, 2007 7:13 PM
That is sweet...mine is worried about the whole process...for both of us. He thinks he's not going to be able to handle the blood and stuff.. and he's positive that he'll pass out if he has to watch me get an epidural.
It's so sweet - one breath he's reassuring me that I'll be fine and I'll be able to make it through, and the next he's telling me how he won't. I'm like...I need you to be there for me! And you can handle more than you think!
