I recently found out I was pregnantfor the first time, i was asked the routine questions about my last cycle. Before my last cycle july 18thish, I had taken a couple tests b.c i wasnt feeling right, but they came back negative, then a couple days later I got my period but it wasnt the normal length of 7 days, instead it was about 4. I was told by the doctor that i conceived around august 1st and im about 5-6 weeks now. but my concern is, that i have been eating healthy but putting on weight already when i was told i wouldnt show just yet. i cant sleep at night, if im not eating something or drinking milk or water i feel disgusting and my breasts have already started to grow.. i dont have a set doctor and it seems everyone i talk to, doctor wise just to ask says there is no possible way, but my mom says women can have their period. i am confused and unsure, anything would help right now.

There is a slight chance that you might be further along but you wont know until you get your first ultrasound, that's when they can really determine the size of the baby. My sister in law "suppossedly" had her baby 5 weeks early but when he came out he weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 20inches long!!! for being 5 weeks early that was a big ass baby!! So it was only logical that the dr. was off by a whole month.

The doctor can usly tell by mesuring the lenght of your uterus , it will be so many inches from top to bottom , plus it will be a certain size internally , when you go in for a 12 week apointment they will usly begin doing this . I am at the end of my first trimester and gained ten pounds within those three months i have a small "pooch" and my boobs grew a whole cup size so what you are exprience is not abnormal my freind is a week ahead of me and her boobs grew like to cup sizes before she was eight weeks pregnant everybody is diffrent.

When I was 5-6 weeks along, I felt ill all of the time as well, but I wasn't putting on weight yet. Many women begin to put on weight as soon as they conceive, a 1.2 lb. here a lb. there. I got a tranvaginal ultrasound done at 9 weeks, and my dates were right on. Who knows you may be further along, but I'd wait and see what the dr. says. Either way it's not a huge deal that warrents concern. Congrats and good luck!!

well thank you! I went today and found out im at my 6 week mark, i am due april 25th, and so far so good. i go back in a couple weeks for more blood tests to check all my levels b.c ive had history with hypoglycemia so they need to keep an eye on my blood sugar. the midwife said the weight gain and breast growth was totally normal and i was to get used to it! HA! well thanks for the blessings everyone.

With my first, when I found out I was pregnant, I was 8 1/2 weeks along (measured by u/s). I told them that was impossible because I had a period the month before on time (I have a short cycle 3-4 days) that seemed normal. Well, found out that there is a such thing as a ghost period I think is what they called it. I was pregnant and had a period. There's always that possibility.

Also, with my first one, my breasts got big really early (thought it was connected to period). Definatly find yourself a good doctor soon so that you can be properly measured and checked. All they need to do is an u/s and measure the babe.

When I as pregnant with my son I actually got my period but just as you mentioned it was much shorter then what it normally was. The following month I didn't get my period at which time I took a test. It is definately possible for you to be further along then what the doctors say. But as mentioned the only way to be sure is to have an ultrasound done.

My sister knows someone who through out her pregnancy she continue to get her period so she never thought she was pregnant. Then at month 6 she completely stopped. She went into to have an ultrasound done and they told her she was 6 months along. The doctors didn't believe her when she told them that she never thought she was pregnant because she continue to get her period. Others will miss their periods as soon as the first month of conceptions.

everyones different in pregnancy, some people experience things earlier than others..but yeah you can be farther along than you thought, i am 36 weeks pregnant according to my lmp..but my dr and I are expecting my baby any day because he's measured farther along the whole time.
