yes they cry for no reason at all. Some babies jsut have a "fussy time" each day. there isn't anything wrong they jsut need to cry. It can happen more if the baby has had too much stimulation that day. It could be gas so try some gas drops for her. Also waht bottles are you using? Try the kind that prevent air like the drop ins or the vent air system by playtex. My son had colic (well that was all I could contribute the crying to) sometimes there was jsut nothing I could do to calm him down. Try to turn the vaccume on. The loud white noise sometimes is enough to calm tem down. IT worked with my son. It has also worked for a few other people on here. Just sit in a quit room hold her tight rock her and turn on the loud ass vaccume. Even if it doesn't make her stop it will give your ears a break form the crying for a few min. Good luck hun

ya, what Jill said. Aliyah has "fussy time" every evening starting at about 7. We use the "Football hold" lay her across your arm face down, her head will be supported by your arm, and we walk her around like that and rock or jiggle at the same time. We figured she's just tired and trying to unwind from the day, it's worse when she;s had a big day. another thing that calms her is running water. I will put her in the swing in the bathroom and take a shower, or I have a toy that plays water sounds, or to just get her calmed down I turn on the water in the tub and once shes calm, rock her or feed her.

My son would cry for hours at a time as well. He had very bad colics. We ended up in the ER one time cause his crying had gone on for almost 5 hrs. and i thought it was something else...but it was just horrible gas.

Try giving her chamomille tea (if you formula feed, use in place of the water) it always worked with my son. I know how horrible it is, there was not one night when my little boy would wake up only for feeding. It lasted til he was about 3-4 months old. But the chamomille tea worked really good.

Also try holding her in the football position like breemichelle said. If it's not colic, then it's probably just stress. Babies get stressed out too you know, and they need to have a good cry everyday. Good luck!!!

girl kendra has been doing that lately. Not for hours, but she normally never crys. I am starting to think that it is either some sort of devlopmental stage or she is just getting more hungry, because a couple of times when she was crying alot it had only been about 1.5-2hrs since she ate, but she was sucking her fingers and passy like a mad woman. I gave her an extra 2oz ans then she was cool. I am thinking that she may need her feedings upped an ounce or so. She usually eats 4oz and 5oz once in a while. She is 4months old so maybe she wants 6oz or something. Good luck with belle though. Hopefully you guys can get it worked out. Did you try my vaccume cleaner trick??

Hey Rosey, I know how hard it is when Babies cry and we can't seem to do anything about it,

But In saying that, easier said than done, Babies are too smart and they can sense when we are stressing out when they get stressed out and don't stop crying, so what we need to do is take deep breaths, drink water and try put on a happy face and think positive :-)

I dont believe they cry for no reason, there has to be a Reason, we just dont know what it is, it could be that they are over tired, Gas, they may need to burp, colic,or they may feel sick in the tummy,

if and I hope it does not happen again, try taking her for a walk in the stoller, even if it is in your own back yard, the fresh air might make her stop and calm down a bit,

or Try giving her chamomille tea, baby panadol wont hurt her, then give her a bath like you did with a massage, top her up with a feed and if she is still crying which She shouldnt after all that, put her in her stroller/pram and go for a walk....
also do you have one of those Cot mobiles??

I have a radio in my Babies room and that seems to settle him, then I just turn the volume down when he falls asleep...

hang in there matey, soon this stage will all pass and you have another stage to get through... but the little rascals are worth it :-)
