My first Appt I got a PAP and tested for std's required by the hospital. Pretty much a physical exam and some blood. They might try a heartbeat but that depends on how far along you are. ↑ |
at my first doc appt for both pregnancys we just talked and checked blood pressure... normally at 10 weeks they get into PAP tests and stuff. ↑ |
they also check you over as if it were a normal check up... they check your mouth, and your teeth ,if you need dental work done they strongly suggest you get it done,, they check your ears and eyes. ↑ |
At my first visit I really wasn't going on to have a prenatal appointment, I was actually going in to have my OBGYN check my chart. So when I got there my doctor looked at my chart and then sent me to the lab to verifiy that indeed my HPT was correct and I was indeed pregnant, which of course I was. And they also wanted to check my progestoren.
At my first appointment for the soul purpose of my pregnancy I didn't have to have a pap test or an exam since I already had one three months prior. He did however check to make sure that my uterus had started to grow. They checked my weight and my blood pressure. Then before I left I was sent to the lab to have blood drawn for the HIV/AIDS test, RH tests and at this time they also typed me. ↑ |
yikes! im scared of needles and ive never had a pap before. thats kinda scary. ↑ |
Although Paps are not comfortable they are not painful. They actually go very quick. I myself am not a needle person either. I just close my eyes and think of something else or I look up towards the ceiling. ↑ |
people make paps sound painful like when i was in school the nurse would show us what they use and that metal thing does not look all that great lol. but i guess if i had sex it wont be as bad for if someone whos never had it. ↑ |
It shouldn't be painful if it's done right. You'll feel some pressure but that is about all you should feel. If it hurts makes sure to say something. ↑ |
