Ahhh yes I remember the dreaded heartburn. Mine got soooo bad during the last month, I finally broke down (after popping like 3 tums a day - which is getting close to the max calcium you'd wanna ingest) and went with my midwife's suggestion and took pepcid :( I tried never to take drugs during the pregnancy, but man that heartburn was killer. Sorry I can't be of more help.

milk is good for short term relief until you get more over the counter stuff.. a big huge glass of milk should help..

I think milk can be somewhat hard on your tummy after a while. I remember it feeling great when it first went down, but it's really hard to digest and I would think that means that it takes more acid to break it down in your tummy, and therefore worse heartburn...does that make any sense? Anyhoot, I can't think of anything but lots of water

water makes heartburn worse actually.

One of my patients told me she drinks apple cider vinegar to cure her heartburn...distilled white would prolly work too. You could also try peppermint anything, peppermint gum helped me sometimes

Lol Coartney, you're comment on the toothpaste reminded me that brushing my teeth made me puke EVERY time. It wasn't the paste cause I tried different kinds. It was just the simple act of brushing...how pathetic am i!

Peptac Liquid Antacid!! It sorts it out!

Well...water is neutral...so it won't kill the acid in your stomach.

Milk leans more toward an alkaline which will cancel out some of the acid for while.

I find Rennie amazing!! You should go out and look for it! It kills the burn as soon as I swallow it and it doesn't come back for about a day!! Honestly. It's great.

I've had bad heartburn the last week and I keep Rennie on my locker.

Also they're delish!!

Go buy them :P
