hi everyone. i'm about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second child. my daughter, Kyra, is a little over 1 year old. i don't have an appointment with my doctor until sept. 1 which is completely crazy to me(i'm gonna be like 13 weeks!!) i am very excited about this pregnancy and secretly hoping for a boy. it's crazy because i feel like i'm already showing, and random people keep telling me that they think i'm having twins. it makes me a little nervous, but i guess we'll just have to wait and see about that one. well, i just wanted to post cause i'm looking for people to talk to who are going through what i'm going through.

i was induced with my daughter and for some reason am way more nervous this time around. maybe its because i actually know how painful its going to be(i had my daughter naturally, not one drop of pain medication) who knows i'm probably just being crazy

no ur not being crazy, i am way more worried this time around too.. yesterday i thought i was having menstural cramps!!lol.. i have had 3 positive pregnancy tests, and i took another one this morning... pregnant!!...so now it's time for me to relax and enjoy my pregnancy...or at least try too

i have an ultra sound on aug 14th, at my request!! Can't wait, I pray everything is all ok, I am sure it is tho

yeah i was pretty lucky the first time around, after the doctor broke my water it only took an hour for me to become fully dialated and then i only pushed for like 10 minutes. from my first contractions to her birth was only like 7 hours. it was crazy

i can't wait for an ultrasound but since i don't even see my doctor until i'm at 13 weeks i probably am going to be waiting awhile for the ultrasound. as bad as it sounds i really want a boy, i mean i'd be happy with a girl, but the lure of that perfect son and daughter family is very strong. and i'm kinda anxious for the doctor to just atleast tell me whether or not its twins

No we're not married but we will be together four years in november. he is a very sweet man, and so great with our daughter. i would love to see how he would be with a son, he's completely into sports. the only real problem we've had is his resistance to getting married. his parents had a really bad marriage, and divorce. he says that he doesn't think that anybody can stay together once they get married, so as long as we don't get married we'll be together forever. it's very frustrating but i try to respect his point of view, and i guess i can't complain too much cause we're together and he doesn't cheat or go out with the boys or anything like that. i would just like to have the same last name as the rest of my family.

thanks Sarah. i'm glad to know that someone else is going through what i am. i would be so happy if its a boy. the symptoms are a little different this time too, i'm more nauseous(just feeling like getting sick, not actually vomiting) and dizzy, as to last time i just vomited all the time. so maybe the change in symptoms is a good sign too.

well....I guess if ur ok with that... I don't really know if i agree with his point of view and i can see how it can be frusterating.. however you don't need to be married to be together and happy:)

it really made me mad at first, his resistance that is. but we are very happy together, and he talks all the time about the future and vacations with the kids, and buying a house, sometimes he even talks about a wedding. so its not like he's reluctant to be with me, i think he's just kinda nervous about it. and 4 years isn't extremely long, so i can give him more time to get used to the idea.

yeah, give him time... atleast he plans to be with you forever... that's comforting for u to know

Ive been with my bf for 5 yrs and we dont feel we need to be married. I mean yea it would be cool but its not a big thing since we already have a family and have been together for so long. If I want to change my last name I can you just go to the court office and do it. But marriage to me isnt any diff than what my relationship is now besides a paper saying so. So maybe later when we have more money and what not we will but Im not rushing it

how old are you sarah? and how old is your daughter? it is so great to hear that we are like in the same place in life. most people don't understand it, but it's good to meet someone who does.

Im 19 and my daughter is 2 yrs old her name is Audra. I know some people dont understand about why we are not married or what not but it is good to know there are other women out there with the same sort of view

How old are you?

Name: apmblair | Date: Aug 3rd, 2006 5:45 PM
i'm 22. yeah its hard sometimes with the criticism from people cause we're not married, but i've learned to block it out. about 2/3 of the people i know in relationships aren't as happy as we are so they're probably just jealous. lol

Name: Sarah M | Date: Aug 3rd, 2006 5:47 PM
lol yea exactly. I just dont listen to them anymore its our choice and if we only get married to be married there is really no point. We are pretty much married anyways(in our eyes) my bf even says his wife every now and then to his friends

Do you have any messangers?

I'm 22 and 21 weeks along w/ my first baby, a little girl. I've been w/ my fiance for 4.5 years. We were actually planning our wedding when we found out about this little one. I kinda have the same views as your bf. I'm the product of a bad marriage. My parents got married b/c of me when they were my age, and stayed together, albeit miserably, for 13 years before ending it. I don't really want to get married either b/c everything's great now so why change it. I mean it just puts added pressure on everyone. I'm able to be on my fiance's insurance so I see no reason to get married. We're supposed to tie the knot in May, but I don't know if I'm ready. i really want the honeymoon though; we were thinking Greece, but you can't just do it for the gifts:) Welcome to the board and congrats on your baby!!

Hello apmblair, I am 21 and am about 6 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have son who is almost 7 months old. I am also not married. However, I have been with the father for almost 5 years. Well, its nice to know that there are other people out there that are young with going to be 2 children. Good Luck.

I am 23 and 21 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby! Found out we are having a GIRL! Yay! My son is 17 months old! My fiance and I have been together for 3 years this coming November but we have known each other since 12 years old!! (First boyfriend/girlfriend!!) We weren't planning on getting married for a little while but then I got pregnant with "Natalie" in April and he popped the question in June!! I was not waiting for it and it felt so right and special! Everyone is different! I am the product of a broken home, my mom has been divorced 3 times and my dad 4!! So I know he was a little skeptical! His parents are still together after 30+ years! I want to be like that! Good luck!!

Oh also, I showed a lot sooner with this one also because my stomach and uterine muscles were stretched from my son! I am pregnant with a girl and I haven't gained much weight! With my son I gained 65 and with this one I've only gained 5 so far! I think you gain less with girls! Just my opinion though!
