Hi everyone, I am 39 weeks right now and I am dying to know if there is anything I can do to help labor get on its way? I am so uncomfortable. I lost my mucas plug on Sunday but I know it doesnt really mean much as to when labor will begin. So any suggestions would be great. thank you. ↓

| Thanks leah, we have tried that but to no prevail, lol. I forgot ot add that I was 2 cm dialated and 50 % effaced last thursday but I guess I could be that way for days or even weeks. Plus I am a little afraid to have sex now that I have lost my plug due to bacteria getting up there. I guess it will happen when it happens. ↑ |

| Well I had my doctors appointment yesterday at 39 weeks. Now I am 3 cm dialted. I just want this to be over. I think if a pregnant women uses any of these old wives tales to go in labor the chances of any of them working are pretty slim, when the baby is ready, he/ she will come. The doctor told me it could be days or even another week or two. Grrrrrr not what I wanted to hear. Congrats Lisa on being pregant also. I hope you have a nice and smooth pregnancy, and a beautiful healthy baby. ↑ |

When I was pregnant in 91 I did major housework hoping that would trigger labor. I pulled down and washed curtains and swept and mopped floors and did deep cleaning all for ........NOTHING! (Well,except I had a very clean house!) Anyway,that baby didnt come until HE
was darn good and ready! I was actually give 2 due dates,the 9th and then the 23rd.....I passed them BOTH and had him the 28th!!!!! ↑ |

| Hi Mandy, I am also 39 weks and in the same boat you are, there are plenty of things you can try, unfortunately they arent for everyone, and dont always work. I am trying castor oil, and hot showers, so far all i have is the runs, sex is a good one, sex itself doesnt start labor, but there are hormones in semen that will help to ripen your cervix, i find it also helps with pressure. Also when you orgasm, it helps your uterus to contract. Give it a whirl. ↑ |

| WOW! You and I are in the exact same situation. I lost my mucus plug on Monday and am not having contractions yet. I go to the dr again on Monday and am hoping that I am dilated more than a 1 as a was last week. It is frustating not knowing WHEN we will go into labor. :) Good luck! ↑ |

| Thank you all; for your suggestions. I have had sex a few times but maybe not enough. my husband is kinda a light weight when it comes to that. He's one good for once a week. LOL. With nipple stimulation how often should I do it? I am way too afraid to try the castor oil thing, I have heard horror stories about that from a relative. | hey dont try to rush it the baby will come when he/she is ready. I was due on the 14 of april and I thought I was in labour to so I went in and while I am having contractions 4-5 mins apart they arent strong enough and I am only dialated to 2 with 50% effaced. Tomorrow night I am going in to be induced so..... I hope all goes well for you ↑ |

| Thanks Ashley but the fact that I am rushing is I cant stand be this uncomfortable any longer. Its not like my baby isnt developed enough to be born right now. This Thursday I will be 40 weeks. i guess my last birth spoiled me she was born 2 weks early and perfectly healthy. Your right though he will be here when he"s good and ready. Hopefully thats sooner than later. ↑ |

| try caster oil hunny! all them old wives tales about sex and herbal teas and hot currys aint true didnt work for none of my friends but caster oil and orange juice mixed together and then a hot bath straight after works ↑ |

| hi, i was due two days ago and still nothing is happening. i have tried all the things they say to naturally induce labour and it doesn't work! My doctor said he will do an enternal next week if i haven't gone into labour yet and sometimes that brings on labour. Maybe you girls could ask your doctor about this to...Good luck ↑ |

| I have had three internal exams my most recent being yesterday and found out I was 4 cm and still nothing, all contractions that I was having seemed to have stopped all together. So the internal exam didnt work for me at least not yet. I am now just one day past due, but I am sooooo ready for this baby to get out. lol. This is my 5th baby so I thought for sure he'd be a little early. I cant wait. Best of luck to all of you!!!!! ↑ |
