If at all possible do NOT request one and try and go normally. I have heard very few positive labor experiences when induced.

I was induced because my water had been broken for over 12 hours and my labor wasn't progressing quickly enough. They want you to deliver within 24 hours of your water breaking.

i thought my water had broke once cuz i felt a pop but my doc said it was nothing n not to worry about it

I was induced because my son had an unstable lie. I had a c section and I loved it!

You'll know when your water breaks. There's no mistaking it for anything else. Even if you initially think it's urine or something, you'll figure out pretty quickly that it's not because the fluid keeps coming out until you deliver. The amniotic fluid replenishes itself every 30 minutes or so, so you'll keep having gushes or trickles of fluid.

i was induced because i went past my due date and was miserable. i think most dr's will consider it starting around 38-39 weeks.

also i was very close to having an emergency c section because my labor progressed very slowly for about 23 hours then i dialated from a 2 to a 10 and did all of my pushing in the last hour.

You just uncomfortable...but the baby will come..don't try to do anything to make it come...even at 38 weeks...I don't thin dr.s will induce just becasue your uncomfortable

i was induced with both of my girls and loved it....they induced me both times because i was so far dilated and thinned out but my contractions just weren't regular enough to start labor. good thing they induced me too because with my 2 daughter they said if i hadn't been induced i would prolly of had her at home.

i'm not saying to get induced if you don't have too but if you do it's not horrible like everyone says...my second baby i didn't have any pain meds with the induction at all...not too bad
