with my first i asked the dr to write a note for me to go part time he wanted to right me out of work for the last month but i needed the money so dr usually have no problem doing that they do it everyday. Just ask tell him your tired and nned to get some rest and work is stressful. My doc put me on stress tests for the last month. good luck i worked 40-50 hrs till the last month of preggo then worked part time 28 hrs till the day i went into labor.

I won't know until closer to my due date...but I plan on taking my leave a couple weeks before I'm due. That way I can spend the final days at home on my butt.

My Dr. was adament that it was best for me to be out and about during my pregnancy, she really didn't want me sitting around too much...I worked a week past my due date, even through many contractions (scared my boss a little) finally they took pity on me and told me not to come back 2 days before I was scheduled to be induced. I never realized you could take time off before, I think it's great though! Does it take away from the time you get after the baby? I know that you are allowed 12 weeks by law, but I was scared to lose even 2 days, so I took vacation my last days off and began maternity leave the day I went into the hospital. Besides, with the first one you don't have anyone at home to keep you company, and it's kinda cool to watch everyone get nervous around you at the end...but I think it's so important to spend that time with your child before a new baby comes- enjoy the holidays!

i'm taking leave the day I go in labor-i have no idea how i'm gonna do it girl! I want to spend a few days by myself before hand but at my job we have quota! I'm due on the switch of the month which kinda forces me to have to stay there and achieve feburary quota!

My job does not offer paid maternity leave, but I am able to use my sick and vacation time. So I have about a month saved up. SO I cant take any materntiy leave until I go into labor. I'm almost 38 weeks right and I wish I could stay at home and not have to come to work!!! I'm still planing on taking 2 months off though the last month will be totaly with out pay, and that would be easy!
