I didnt gain any weight until week 15. Dont worry, you will gain weight as you need too. You are only 6 weeks, be thankful it hasnt started yet!

Sweetie I don't see how you'd need to gain 2 pounds at just 6 weeks!! Trust me, the weight will come!! I'm 34 weeks now and am so suprized how I keep gaining when at the begining I didn't really gain until I was about 4 months along. And remember, every women and every pregnancy is different! You can't listen to peoples advice on that stuff when they are one siding it you know.

Yep, don't worry about the wieght, with my first I lost 15 lbs. due to morning sickness and didn't gain till my 20 week appt., and then it was 2 pounds! After that though, had no problem putting the weight on! This time I'm 7 1/2 weeks and lost only 3 pounds, don't stress about the weight. I had a co-worker that criticised one girl at work for being too big too early, she claimed that it was unhealthy and you should only gain 15 to 20 pounds overall and that's what she was going to do when she got pregnant. Of course not being pregnant she had no idea that it's not something you can control easily. At the time there were 3 of us pregnant and she was always asking us about our wieght, very rude about it, and always had advice. She finally got pregnant this year, and gained 10 pounds her first 12 weeks! (She wasn't underweight, so it wasn't necessary.) She ate her own words, so take everyone's advice with a grain of salt, especially if they have never been there before, plus everyone and every pregnancy is different.

I think everyone and every pregnancy is different, I gained 27 lbs with my first baby, 15 lbs with #2 and 12lbs with #3. As long as your not starving yourself or over eatting I think you should be Okay. Your dr will inform you if you need to gain less or more weight. Good luck :)

I know, I loved it when she told me, then I had to remind her of the way she was with the rest of us during our pregnancies. Didn't bring it all up, but mentioned that it wasn't as easy as she thought to control the weight gain. Probably not very big of me, but she made the other gal cry! Sounds like you gained less with each pregnancy, I hope I don't gain too much, but with my first I lost so much that after I gained, I was only 8 pounds heavier tahn when I started (gained 23 total). It was so easy to lose the weight. I took it for granted and now I haven't lost anymore, probably all uphill for me now...thought the story might be relevant though!

I think I gained less each time because I was busy chasing the other ones around. My last one I was on bedrest from 26 weeks on surprized I didnt gain much weight with the last one..

Never thought about that, I know mine has become quite a handful the last few weeks, or I'm just really tired, can't seem to keep up. Right now he's quietly playing cars by himself, so I really don't want to interrupt him if he wants to entertain himself for awhile. He's almost 3, it won't be too long anyway. I know with my first pregnancy I was so focused on the pregnancy, now I'm still excited but don't have the time to rest and read books as much. Lori, when did you tell your kids about the pregnancy? My son will be 3 in August and keeps asking for a baby, even made up a pretend baby brother. I think he's about hte only kid in daycare without a sibling, except for one little girl, but her mom isdue in July and they are making a big fuss for her which is really cool. Not sure when to tell my son, I don't think he'll understand. I did ask him if he wanted a baby in the house and he said yes, said he wanted to be a big sister- think he got that from daycare.

Some people even loose weight in the beginning. I would talk with your doctor about any concerns

Chris~
When I got preg w. #2 I told my daughter who was 2 at the time as soon as I found out. She didnt really get it but was happy to talk about babies LOL Baby #3 ws told to #1 when she was 4 and she was thrilled, Baby #2 was only 9 mo old when I got preg with #3 so enough said there lol
This one I told my 8, 5 & 4 yr old last week and they all are excited.. Now my youngest who will be 5 in July is a boy and only says he wants a big brother. He either doesnt totally get it yet or really is to much of a boy to care LOL.. Its fun though when they mention the baby :)

So it's okay to tell them early isn't it? Some people say to wait until you start to show a lot and it's pretty far in to the pregnancy because kids don't understand the concept of time as well. My mom is one of them that told me this. Others say to tell them right away before you tell others so they don't feel left out. We just keep asking our son if he wants to be a big brother and maybe around Christmas we'll have one. I think that's close enough, but he doesn't completely get it, he just likes the idea of being a big brother. Thanks for your input!
