im 30+3wks with third child and cant remember for the life of me when the baby usually turns head down.it has seemed as though he has been sideways for a long time, well at least what i think judging by the hits and kicks.im not sure how to tell what position he is in and the dr. hasnt said much.he only measures me and said i'll have a u/s done at 37wks,the baby will prob be here by then(due date is a guess) isnt that a bit late to be checking? anyhow question to this post is how do i tell what position he is in and when to expect him to turn head down?

babies dont always drop. aand its usually right before labor if they do .. but like i said not all babies do, most actually drop when ur in the hospital in labor starting to push

You'll know baby has dropped when you can actually breathe easier, heartburn may let up, and you'll feel more pressure in your pelvis and on your bladder. But since this is your 3rd child, you may not have that happen until you're already in labor. I've read that lots of repeat moms don't experience this until later on

Usually with subsequent pregnancies the baby doesn't drop until labour. Your baby should be head down by 37 weeks.

ive been carring really low the whole pregnancy, thats why i was asking. most people say once you have one pregnancy that the rest come easier and that its something you'll never forget.well in my case i must have something wrong with me cause i dont remember a damn thing lol..both previous times were trouble free, this time around has been hell. i was just curious as to when he'll turn and ect. i really cant tell how he's positioned because i get kicks and pressure from everywhere, kinda feels like a ping pong ball going insane

Curious Coartney--are you having a c-section because your baby is face up? or for another reason. Heard that face up labour is terrible back labour. Just wondering

ah I see--have fun with that!! I hope for your sake he decides to inspect your tail bone instead of the back of your belly button!

i know i know, but i want some effacement and dialation b.c without its kind of like setting yourself up for a failed induction and leading to csection, and u know all about the 24 hour thing here.. but ive had severe sevre diarrhea all friday saturday and today sooo hopefully that means something is happening lol .. if you read the post about our bodies having alarms LOL .. yeh im horrible

mine didn't turn until week 39. i was just a couple of days away from a csection when she finally got in gear and started heading the right direction. i warn you though that once she was turned it seriously felt like her head was stuck in my vagina (sorry if TMI) at ALL times until i was induced a week and a half later. it sucked, but i didn't want a csection, so i guess it worked out.
