Hi. I have very little time to come to a decision. My husband wants to put me in a hospital for anorexia. I'm 30 years old and have had an eating disorder for 10 years now. How do I fix this on my own so I don't have to go to a hospital?????

I went to my med doc. I told him I had lost like 15lbs since he last saw me. He kinda blew me off. Now my husband is scared to death. My hair is falling out. My teath are going to hell. And I can almost count all my bones. I look sick. I want so bad to fix it. I just don't know how to start. Talking to people who don't have an eating disorder is like talking to a machanic when you have no idea about cars, you know?

i know what you mean Mickey. People who i talk to bout my ED that haven't gone through it themselves don't seem to be much help do they?!?!??

I am starting to recover from Bulimia, so i ain't an expert on Anorexia but first of all i would try to introduce just tiny bits of food throughout the day- i know this seems obvious but that is what i would do ,

That is what my husband's plan is for me....atleast 5 small meals a day. It's just so hard when I have gotten to the point of no appet. And when I do eat...I just want to throw up. That is where I am hoping these chat rooms help. Maybe if I talk about it, I'll see how sick I am and how much I need to get better.

Also eat fruit and veg.
I have suffered from bulimica for 6 years and im am starting to sort myself out now.
I found that fruit and veg really worked for me as it is little and mainly water. Give it a try it does work.
Once you are used to eating again you can try harder more solid foods.
Hope this helps.
