im 29 and i have an eating disorder ↑ |
Hi, please, don't give up trying to find some help. therapists? eating disorder group therapy, books? There are sometimes counseling agencies which can give discounted rates based
on your income (sliding scale fees) also some therapists will do a sliding scale, you only have to ask.
I registered on this site only because I saw your letter. I am also an older adult in my late 40's and am trying to stop the bulimia. The greatest help to me has been seeing a therapist to finally talk about why I was bottling up my feelings, which made me
seek the near instanteous relief from overwhelming feelings by having a bulimic episode. It has taken over 5 yrs, but I am finally ready to really face the bulimia head on. I'm finding I can sort out my feelings and bear them, not live in fear of being killed by feelings.
Any way, just want to let you know there are MANY older women in their 30's 40's and fifties struggling with bulimia. Don't give up on trying to regain control of your life; you too can find some
calm and peace inside, a safe place where bulimia doesn't live.
Good luck, my thoughts are with you. ↑ |
