Hi Chrisi,

Your son might have thinks on his mind which hes finding it hard to talk about to anyone and getting away from the house is the easiest way of dealing with it.

You should sit him down one day and ask him if everything is okay and ask him why he doesn't feel like he wants to spend time in the house any more.

staying home can be BORING when theres sooooooooo much outside the house that is more interesting. It dosent mean anything is going wrong, just that he has friends. Your doin fine just make sure you know where he is.

Maybe you need to put him in a after school program or summer school there's lots of things you can do for him othere then letting him rome the streets like a lost kid. Does he have house chores keep him busy you never no what kind of friends he has. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SON!

Dont you remember what its like to be 15? I do! I never wanted to be at home either. As long as hes not getting into any trouble and is doing his fare share around the house and letting you know where he is, I wouldnt worry too much. The teenage years were the best years of my life,I had so much fun and like your son, it was all harmless!

Spending time at home is really boring, your son probably has a girlfriend and wants to have sex, or get drunk. Friends is the best thing in the world.

Friends are more important at this age. Homelife at this age is boring. On the other hand,he is still a minor and YOU have the power to keep him home if you want.

Karen, stop narrating your imaginary porno, it's getting a bit OTT.

Chrisi - well, if you have a choice between going out with your friends or being at home, which would you choose?
I went through a period of spending every possible minute with my friends, but I gradually started to appreciate spending time at home and without people. Maybe he gets bored easily at home - I do too - just let him do it. :)
