Hi Chrisi,
Your son might have thinks on his mind which hes finding it hard to talk about to anyone and getting away from the house is the easiest way of dealing with it.
You should sit him down one day and ask him if everything is okay and ask him why he doesn't feel like he wants to spend time in the house any more.

I never wanted to be at home either.As long as hes not getting into any trouble and is doing his fare share around the house and letting you know where he is, I wouldnt worry too much. get him a playstaion thats what my dad did and now i stay at home 24\7
i use to go to my friends house and play his gamecude and swim
of cource i was always a loner and a gamer oh well... any way get him hooked on like model or games... take him on family trips like bowling or dinner camping anything like that
