Found this poem; thought it might make you smile. It made me smile. Been having a few bad days missing my beloved dog, whose been gone from my life for 9 months now, but never from my heart.

Pennies from Heaven

I found a penny today just lying on the ground,
But it's not just a penny, this little coin I found.

"Found pennies come from Heaven" that's what my Grandpa said to me,
He said, "Angels toss them down" and that "they're meant to be"

He said, "When an Angel misses you, they toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up, to make a smile out of your frown."

So, don't pass by that penny when you're feeling blue,
It may be a penny from Heaven, that your angel has tossed to you.

This is another poem I found for anyone whose had to euthanise their pet ...

If it Be

If it be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should wake me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won

You will be sad - I understand
But don't let your grief stay your hand
For on this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship will stand the test

We've had so many happy years
What is to come should hold no fears
You would not want me to suffer so
When the time comes - please let me go

I know in time you too will see
It's a kindness that you'll do for me
Although my tail, it's last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved

Do not grieve that it should be you
Who has to decide this thing to do
We have been so close, we two - these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

I'm sorry to hear about Heidi. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. There will always be a part of my heart that will never be repaired since I lost my beautiful dog Bono. The gap they leave in your life is immeasureable. But at least you knew and loved Heidi. You were her special person. I feel lucky and priveleged that I was Bono's special person. I'll always be grateful to him for being mine. Remember that. :)
