I've had 5 hamsters in 4 months.1 only lasted a week and my second died and my third only lasted three days and my thourth escaped and my 5th is still alive(so far!!)

I'd give up keeping hamsters if I were you and get something else instead.

Check the bedding you are using. Some of the bedding that is recomended by the pet stores are not good for small animals such as rats, gerbils, mice , guinie pigs ect... I have even seen puppies that died from certaint bedding. Ceter and Pine are NO NOs! I know thats what the pet store will sell you and even tell you it is fine for them. Why it is not good, is because it is chemacly treated as well as verry dusty. When the animal breaths, he breaths in all the dust combined with the chemicals. This then causes a respatory problem (BREATHING[ LUNG) you may see a sucreation from the nose, their eyes may get watery and he may seem to be less active with labored breathing. In small animals it doesnt take long for a respatery infection to take over and cause death. If you notice these symptoms it is important that you get antibiotics amediatly, also change the bedding he is in.
