Pokey is my dog hes 13 years old going blind he can see a short distance i leave hes food and water in one place he so he knows where it is he knows the house well, i had him since he was a pup,none of that is worrying me at this stage, but he scratches the carpet this is worrying me i am sure hes going deaf too because i have to repeat over and over Pokey stop that,why is he doing this does anyone knows ↓

some dogs develop the habit out of boredom
some do it because they cant smell very well
some do it because they have a nervous disorder
some do it because old men have the tendency to develop annoying habits
if you are worried you should call your vet. for a question like that they probably wont aven ask you to bring him in; they might give you some tips on how to curb it though ↑
