I have never heard of that kind of fish. Do you have a fresh water tank? We have a salt water tank, it is 90 gallons. So far we only have an Snowflake eel, a starfish and then we got a new fish yesterday I think it is called a sailfin.

Hey devsmom

I have quite a few Jack's. I love them they are wonderful fish. Some of the other fish i have put in the tank with my jack's are puffers i bought three green spotted puffers and two figure eight puffers they seem to get along just fine. Take care and good luck with your jacks.you can e-mail me at [email protected] if you would like to talk about jack's

You can put them with Oscars, and any other South African Fish..I love Dempsey's and they are very fun to have. Pretty much anything you put in with them they will eat except South African fish. I hope this helps.

I have one oscar and three green spotted puffers and two African Cichlids..a black tail shark, a cat fish, and some goldfish i thought the others would eat, but not yet...How big is your tank...becasue that depends on what you put in there

I have a 6" jack. He's in a 125 gal tank. With him I have a 7" managuense. She is a lot meaner the him but they like to try and breed(3 times, none successful.) I also have a 4" african cichlid in there but he hides a lot. I also have a 9" pleco in there. You can put more fish if you have enough hiding spaces. In my take I like to put rocks close enough together so that the smaller fish can gat through but not the big fish in case of a chase.

Yes my chiclids are mean...they occupy the front middle of my tank....The others have just learned to take other parts of the tank...Though they don't mess with the oscar...

I guess I was wrong. Jack Demseys go best with other South American fish. My Oscars and my dempseys get along just fine. I also have a dragon fish in there and they get along just fine. i have alot of feeder fish in there and my oscars and my dempsey's go on a wild chase. I love to watch them catch the feeders.
