Not vaccinating, not registered, LOOSE (aka) RUNNING AT LARGE, not fed or watered unplayed with, not socialized, not giving the proper obedience, leaving a child alone with the dog, not teaching kids how to respect the pet, basically someone who just don't give a rats ass what is going on with their dog.

Someone who lets their dog out in the yard with out a leash while working on the yard. This way their dog can run out bite my kids and pick a fight with my dog so when he defends his family he looks like a killer.

Throwing a dog in a yard with some food and water in my book is the bare minimum. It takes a lot to be a responsible pet owner. Most people don't have it in them!

T rabbit you was suppose to let some one else name a few, lol!! I guess you just about covered it all.

I do strongly agree with the leaving a kid alone with the dog and not teaching them proper animal respect. What makes me crazy! is when I see a kid sitting on a dog bouncing away while gripping the dogs ears. And mum says....look how good the dog is with the kid! All that runs through my mind is rover turning and taking a bite out of little jills face because mum allowed her to ride the dog like a pony.

Sorry :*( I forgot to be kind and share. I agree I have seen several parent say the same thing. When I hold a educational event dog safety is the most important part. I stress the importance to teach the children and the pets boundaries. Parents make the mistake of thinking the dog can rationalize as a human and just walk away, or deal with it. If the parent will not control the kid the dog will attempt to gain dominance over the child to stop it. People seem to forget they are pack animals and even in a domesticated state they still act as k-9's. When kids get on your nerves you say "go play" or "go to your room" sorry people dogs can't tell your child to get their heavy butt up and go play. Oh boy I am going to stop now or I will be ranting all night. LOL

Good topic tho.

LMAO!!!!! Please.... rant! Maybe some one will identify their wrongs with your ranting . I don't blame you for going on a roll I feel the same way, it frustrates me to see people so uneducated.

*RANT NOT INTENDED FOR RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS*
This is for those of you that let your dog off the leash.

What really burns my butt is when every Sally and Joe that has a "nice little dog" has them loose in the fount yard. They will say its fine he/she listens very well. It does not matter how well they listen they are dogs and if for some reason my frightened kid or dog sparks your dogs prey drive it is me who will pay for it. I have got to the point that I carry my police asp. My dog should never have to feel the need to fend off your loose dogs. I am the Alpha I fight for my pack if they are aggressively coming after me or my dog I will strike. A leash is protection for your dog and mine. My dog is a APBT so when a dog runs out on him all I can do is prevent Tyson from biting them so when the cops show my dog can not be blamed for being a "pit bull". Even when my dog is leashed and your mutts attack him my dog is on the news. Every day I see news about a "pit bull" attacking a pet. Well if the pet was on a leash you could have prevented a blood bath. I never let my dogs off a leash unless they are in my fenced back yard and I am out there too. Supervision....supervision....SUPERVISION!! They are like kids if you don't keep their minds busy they find a way to do it them self.

Jogging the other night with tyson had a mutt run out hair standing up and he was what I call snaking my legs.( HEAD LOW LOOKING FOR A STRIKE ZONE.) I instantly pull up ty's fount paws off the ground and tell him "calm". The asp was at home so all i could do is yell and take tys leash off and use the clip end to shoo him. After one whack he decided to stand in his own yard and bark. This could have ended really bad. If Hitting him with the leash would not have worked I would have no choice but let ty get involved. Lets face it I am a mean B**** but not mean enough to fight a SOB tooth to fist.

* "BAD DOG OUT SIDE" * RANT

You owners who decide you want a puppy then when YOU are to slow to potty train you shove them out side. I hear "we got him for the kids but he keeps peeing in the house." take his pea size bladder out every 15-30 min you would not have that problem.

Now he is not a cute little puppy you can carry around and look cute with so now he is bound in your yard the only attention is " get back" while you dump a cup of food out. A responsible owner takes the time to properly train each dog they have. We spend time with our pets. I am sick of seeing a dog tied out on a 4 foot piece of chain with nothing to do all day but pace. You took the dog now walk him, play with him, love him, he never asked to come home with you he could have ended up in a way better home if you left him.

um...
something that might not have be mentioned was knowing when to let go. When giving up a pet or having to make the right choice so there not suffering any more. There's a really good poem about a bad pet owner..i'll have to find it.

Also..an unresponcible pet owner is one who makes a decison to give up a pet too fast........
no need to call me a hippocrite...im just saying

Lauren I think you were saying that if your dogs health is failing then know its best to put them to sleep. But on the same note dont chose the responsibility of owning the dog. then when you encounter a health problem that costs a couple hundred you just terminate their life. Thats why you get pet insurance and if your credit is to poor for that you stick back a few hundred.

Or you could have been saying you choose to have a dog then a month later you ship them to the shelter your a poor iresponsible owner.

im sorry im just really tired

I was saying that if your dog(pet) is paralyzed from the waist down and will rub herself to the bone if you dont put her to sleep.....then you ned to say your final good byes

THEN
if you being home an animal that doesnt fit in a home.....you need to fix it.
not nessasarily take it back to the shelter but find an even better home for it.
because an animal can tell when you're not happy.
some people have various opions on this.....but this is mine

and i was also saying that if you have an animal for a day and you decide that it doesnt fit your a bad pet owner
again no need to call me a hippocrite
