OK. im going to confess something. i don't like dogs.there i said it.when ever i say that people really get offended.its not that i don't like animals i just don't want them in my house.it could be my son and i are allergic to almost every animal with fur.or it could be that my mom always had 5 to 8 dogs at on time and assorted other pets. i felt i was living in a zoo.i was always ashamed of the smell.and there is nothing worse then stepping in dog pu first thing in the morning. i do like cats as long as they are some one elses and there as been an occasional dog i have liked but once again as long as it was some on elses.so does that make me a bad person? and why? by the way my daughter does have a bata fish named naily only because he does'nt make me sneeze.  ?

Yes hater. when i tell people that i really dislike animals,mostly dogs. they seem offended. if they have pets.its almost like they are there children and im insulting them.i din't go out of my way to say these things but if we get close enough they know.and of course the whole " im allergic thing bops up"aaaccchuuuu.  =

I think that a lot of dog people are really selfish when they don't pick up the dog's poo. I'm always worried when I take my kids out that they're going to step in it and catch diseases.

I prefer cats, but I always get a load of verbal from people when I say this because people always hate cats.

I don't know what makes dog people think they're so superior and have the right to abuse cat lovers.

Lets see how many people have a go at me on here because I've said this - It will only prove my point!  =

i agree, cats are sooooooooo much better. A dog needs you but a cat doesnt yet the cat loves you anyway. Cats are independant yet still show their affection, they're like adults yet dogs are like kids. An adult likes you for the way you treat them yet a child cant make that sort of judgement. Cats are way superior to dogs.....  =

Hi everbody. I do agree cats are so much better as you can tell from my first statement.My son and i are allergic to any thing with fur much to my daughters annoyance.She once brought in a earth worm from outside and asked if she could keep it because theres no way we could be allergic to worms!!!We checked in to a specific cat called a Cornish rex that is breeded for people with allergies.They were 5 to 600.00 dollars.I said thats ok!!! We have a cute little place down town called the House of Meows.We go there often to get our cat fix. we last about 15 min. before we fill that itchy feeling and as soon as the first person starts snezzing were out of there.  =

I think that a vaccine is currently being developed to help people with pet allergies. Ask your doctor as one may be already out, I don't know.

Cats are nice and relaxing and homely. Dogs jump around too much!  =

No it doesn't make you a bad person at all,it's completely understandable why you feel the way you do.Hey,my son's got a bata fish too and his bowl can stink pretty badly if it isn't cleaned out once a week!! We also have a cat who can create her own messes by puking and the litter box is another stink that needs attention often and not to forget cat hair everywhere! One things for sure,animals of any kind are another job that needs tending!! I hate it when people who have dogs let them roam the street and they end up crapping in my yard and I don't even have a dog!! It makes me so mad that if I knew for sure who's dog it was,I would deliver the (brownie treat ) to it's owners doorstep! Also female cats spray even when they're spayed,mine does,I've seen her do it ,yuck!! Animals can be sweet but they are also alot of work and cost money.  =

My daughter got her beta fish 4 yrs ago. we have been through 3 fish now.One lasted for 2 1/2 yrs! that was the hardest one to lose for her.She has handled the responsibilty well.Do you have a air filter on your tank? Because we only have to clean the tank about once a month.It really makes a difference. I know how you fell about the poop problem.People are really inconsiderate when it come to your personal proberty.  =

Some people just don't like dogs. I can't stand cats, I'm allergic to them but I do think that cats are beautiful, I just can't stand them, my friends cat was sitting by the sliding glass doors with a dead bird plopped in from of him! My sister borrowed my car to take her cat to the vet and the cat tore up my back carpeting by the back window and my car was new! It doesn't make us bad or mean people, we just aren't pet lovers! Well, I'm a dog mush, I love puppys and dogs.  =

My Dr. raises ferrets because he is soooooooooo allergic to most animals (dogs, cats, rabbits....). He was saying there is no dander with ferrets. And, in his opinon their smarter than cats & dogs, & easier to take care of. They might be something to look into.

I see what you mean. I don't like most people's children, and if I dare say something like that, people look daggers at me. I can't help it. Most kids annoy me. I have more patience for animals. (My own kids are awesome, but I figure there's some hormonal parental thing which blinds me to how obnoxious they are to everyone else or something.)

It doesn't make you a bad person, just someone who has different tastes. Unless you're one of those jerks who makes "jokes" about doing horrible things to dogs.

That said, I think, from the sounds of it, part of your experience of not liking dogs has been not liking them being poorly cared for. I can understand taking a disliking to a particular kind of animal if you've had a bad experience with it. Stepping in faeces hardly endears you to someone.  =

First of all, it's BETTA fish. Not bata or batta or anything stupid like that. Second of all, fish sometimes die for inexplicable reasons. They can be old, etc. Or maybe it was sick--it can be easy to miss if you don't know what to watch out for. Did the body look any different than usual? (Scales puffed out and making it look like a pinecone, white slime on body, etc.) Was he swimming fine before he died, or was he having trouble?  =

ok i going to tell you some thing that i never told any before you my mom and dad always go out every night and leave me and my brother and sister all alone and don't come back normaly the next day my littlie is only five and littlie brother is eight and i am only coming up to sixteen but i have been taking care of them since they were born my littlie brother keeps calling me mom and my littie sister hates me for what my mom and dad dose when they do come back they always have to a fright and it always end up someone getting hurt mosty me trying to stop it a few times i even been push out and i have to go and sleep around one of me mate house even when my mom is there she alway starts on me calling me name while i clean up the mess around the house and she also starts hitting me for no reson it the same thing with my dad and my littie sister is taking after my mom and my littlie brother starts crying when i mom and dad starts on each other or me and there nothing i can do
i feel every day of my life is getting worse and i feel if they hate me by even living all i want to do is just get away from this but i can't and even if i did i can't leave my littlie brother
please help me what should i do

There is no way that you should be having to cope with this on your own. Your parents are breaking the law by what they're doing. You could call Social Services - you don't have to give your name - pretend you're a neighbour who's found out what's going on and decided to report it. Or you could try to find someone to talk to about it - do you have any teachers, friends' parents etc. whom you could confide in?

Have you talked to your parents about this problem? Don't they care in any way about you and your siblings?

They shouldn't be forcing you to live like this. Please try to find a Helpline number that you can call for support. In the UK we have Childline - if you're in the US there must be something like this for young people to turn to.  =

Scare, I trully know how you feel sweetie! Growing up I had to deal with a lot of the same things you talk about. It is scary and you dont know what to do! you would like to report youre parents, but they are your parents and even though they are making your life missrible, you still love them! you dont want to hurt them. I do think despite them beeing your parents you should report them, if you dont want to it your self, then talk to a school counselor. Tell them what is happening, You cant live this way nor should your siblings have to. you will be grown enough in a couple years where you will be able to go on, out of the houe. Your sister & brother will still be there, they will not be of age to move for several years. Really sweetie you have to do some thing befor the situation worsens!  =

No you are not over reacting. You shouldnt tell your parents anythng because they will just cover everything up. Keep it silent and they will get caught being out all night not watching you and the other kids. Also you have every right to have your well being taken care of. Same with your siblings. It is wrong to go out all night and ignore your kids. Does your parents sleep all day? Who takes care of the little kids during the day when there is no school? You? What if you werent there? Well, you will be a dummie if you start getting into drugs just to keep your friends happy. What you are facing is called Peer Pressure and it's seen off plenty of people!

You should try to get some distance between yourself and these so-called friends (losers). Take some time to yourself and be strong in your own mind as to how you want to live your life. If you let these people wreck your life now then you'll be facing adulthood with no kind of future. These people aren't going to matter in 5, 10, 15 years!

Leave them to their drug abuse and start to find new people to hang out with.

I came across one girl that I used to go to school with a few years ago and she had really messed things up for herself. No job or education, loads of illegitimate kids, dingy flat etc.

You're not a loser, but you will be if you do what these people want you to do !!!! If they think it's so great then let them do it and see how far it gets them. They're blackmailing you - dump them as fast as you can!  =

I'm in agreement with you sneezy. Its our God given right to not like dogs, just like some people don't like steak or chicken, we don't like dogs! My new husband came with a dog and I wasn't too happy about it. Although she is a very good dog, the whole basement smells like "DOG" and there is hair everywhere and it grosses me out. Everytime we open the side door to come into our house, that's ALL I smell is "DOG!" So, now for sure when people come over, I'm sure that's the first thing they smell too, and its embarassing. I use the carpet deoderizers etc. but it only works for a day or so, then back to the God awful Dog Smell! Well that's my opinon on it.. i"m with you sneezy.  =
