I am posting to see if anyone else has had this experience. I am 27 weeks and found out today my cervix is thinning about 1-2 months ahead of schedule (29 mm). I would like to hear from anyone else that has had a similiar experience and the outcome.

Thanks!

My dil is currently 25 weeks, she us 100% effaced and dilated 2cm. She is living minute by minute right and I am a wreck right now. How did things turn out for you ?

I just ran across your posting. How are you doing since you posted? I just wanted to share my similar experience. My cervix started thinning at 25 weeks. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks on magnesium sulfate to stop contractions. My doctor thought that everything was under control and sent me home only for me to return 13 hours later dilated to 8 centimeters and forced to deliver at 27 weeks. When my son was born he did fairly well. He was only 2 lbs. 14 oz. and 15 inches long. They determined that he was really only 26 weeks because his eyes were still fused together. His eyes opened slowly from the inside corner like a puppy. He spent 74 days in the NICU on oxygen and trying to maintain his body temperature. He is 15 months now and is doing remarkably well. I hope that you make it to 36 weeks but if not, keep your head up.

I replied to you yesterday and wanted to add a bit more. I to went into premature labor. I did deliver early. My son spent 74 days in the NICU. He is 15 months old now and beautiful. There are some setbacks due to his prematurity but I will talk to you about those after I know you have delivered because right now you don't need to worry about what might be later on. You need to focus on keeping that baby in there as long as possible. Keep your head up! I know exactly how you must be feeling right now, You are in my prayers! Another thing I want to recommend is to pray constantlly. God never gives us more than he thinks we can handle.

I'm 26 weeks and going through the same thing. My OB put me on strict bed rest, but is there anything else I can do?
