The rejection you get from your friends is a lonely and lonely place to be, It gets worse as you age and its harder to find friends, I'm so lonely and my many attempts to reach out to others always takes me back to my same place. Being alone! It's a frustrating process and and I am growing tired of always being alone!

hello.
Sometimes i come across parents asking for advice on dealing with a child with asperges syndrome. I am 17 years old, 11 months, and 7 days. I have asperges syndrome. I want to start by saying that i live a normal life. I have completed a medical reception course, i tend bar, i played soccer for 6 years, i attended a normal school (small private school, however not for special needs children) as a child i wouldnt talk, i would only eat brown, red, and white foods, and i had a schedual of my day planned to keep me calm. Things like noise make me anxious, and too many people. Dealing with an aspergian child can be hard, but one way to get your head around it is to imagine someone screaming in your ear or being pressed into a small room with 100 people. as an aspergian i have a hypersensitivity to certain things, and the discomfort of certain things makes me upset and overwhelmed. Normal everyday activities for some can be horrible for me. If your child is having trouble, try giving very logical explanations and guidlines. If your child hits another child, simply saying 'dont hit another child' can confuse your child. Managing stress and uncomfortable situations can sometimes cause innapropriate actions. Set a plan for your child such as 'if you feel like hitting a child, step back two metres and count to 20 with your eyes closed, then find your teacher/parent/carer and tell them what had happened' this takes away confusing requests and sets a clear plan for the child to understand. If you have any questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

I've read many of your post and found them very inspiring and informative. I hope it's ok for men with a child with aspies to post here. My son is 12yrs
old and will be 13 in march. He's very intelligent, but
has a limited amount of interest (video games, cartoons, computer) There aren't any friends to speak of.

whatever they say they think the best way to deal with it is let them do that as whatever you say they will only come up with a reason not to use your explanation

My son is 33. I wish I knew long ago he had it. I mostly leave him alone when he seems happy. He tries to have girlfriends but it doesn't work. He never gets past the second date.

I was diagnosed late in life with Aspergers. I currently am 27, have a job, hobbies and love life. I was one of the ones who sat alone trapped in my head confused about how to even start a conversation with the person next to me. I hated my self, life and everything in between for lack of guidance...I found that guidance. You must bring your loved ones back to the trees, the desert, the ocean and re-discover what it means to be human. We are not less than, modern man is just confused and inferior. "sane" people look at education wrong. Go back to the start and re-think what we teach and why. I hope someone hears this and finds truth. Thank you for your time.

To the teens and adults here with asperger's, how do I effectively diffuse or avoid power struggles with my twelve year old son, especially those over school work?

Name: david | Date: Oct 15th, 2010 3:19 AM
i have aspergers and can spot them from 20 feet away or atleast ive been diagnosed as such since i was 13 its been 3 seperate diagnosis. Usually OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) ADHD and AS usually run hand in hand some ppl even consider it triad of symptoms. Even though im on adderal and it does help the random conversations and yes i ran out and it took 2 days to get a refill and ppl at work noticed and it was a big thing. Even though they do help hm wondering how long one of these can go on for lol ppl still notice im a lil "crazy" and when i came off my pills those two days this girl that works there after im around a bunch of guys all day when she told me she wanted my tractor i told her i wanted her body it just slipped out now shes mad at me but its a big joke apparently. However ive read a couple different books on it went to college seen a couple of good movies on it had a girlfriend even though i lent her a book on it and she read it it was still very hard but mozart and the whale is a good movie also check out ADAM those r two good movies i found on it but i know it may seem like it takes forever for us to do things or learn new concepts once we get it often times it just clicks and then its like wow uh what happened i dont know it just all of a sudden clicked will post again tomorrow also looking for chats ROBIN WILLIAMS ALSO HAS AS I GET TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT EINSTEIN HAVING IT AND THOMAS JEFFERSON CUZ THEY R GONE AND NOONE REALLY CARES BUT IF U SAY ROBIN WILLIAMS HAS IT THEN ITS LIKE WOW OK LOL

ROBIN WILLIAMS HAS ASPERGERS. I believe in english thats what the would consider a hook u know something that gets other ppl interested. I also have been diagnosed 3 times by 3 different doctors as aspergers ever since i was 13 usually its a triad of symptoms OCD ADHD and aspergers. ROUTINE IS EVERYTHING TO SOME NOT SO MUCH TO OTHERS as u may or may not have read there are varying degrees but no matter where i go what i do or how i try and act ppl always see me as a lil "off" or a lil "crazy". I know this may sound egotistical o they also say o yea hes very smart he just has no common sense but i can spot an aspie about 20 ft away without even talking to em lol. Its awareness is growing everyday. Not sure how much i can fit in one of these boxes so ill start a new one lol

Some ppl might be worried that all there kids eat is sweets or pizza and cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets and no vegetable maybe some but not enough. i can tell u that even right now im eating a diced peaches fruit cup but i much prefer mandarin oranges in a can. Alot of stuff out there about wheat free gluten free diets which pretty much means that u have to cook everything yourself at hom most ppl dont have time for it. Alot of times yes the texture or color of the food or the look or the smell is a big turnoff and alot of times ive seen in others and myself that we tend to eat prepackaged "foods" mostly because its either to much trouble to cook or we dont know how to or it doesnt interest us. Like i said before ROUTINES are everything even if its something that may not seem like it serves a purpose but understanding your childs routines and trying to tweak it every now and then is good its the best thing for them like having them cook for the family once a week on the same day every week You can grab what u want from the store with instructions on it of course like taco meat or mac and cheese or grilled chicken sorry thats my stuff lol and having them follow through with small chores like cleaning up after they make dinner i.e wash dishes or put em in dishwasher clean off counters with sponge and then sweep the floor THE ENTIRE FLOOR NOT JUST THE PARTS WITH FOOD OR DIRT ON EM lol.Independent living skills are most important thing to teach to any kid and yes it may seem stressful changing the routine but once they get it down pat its no problem its just something they do every day or week.

IM sorry i talk so much honestly i want to work with em and was working on compiling research for lets say a thesis? Yes i was in college and yes i didnt really care about it all i wanted to do was build up a sample size of aspies maybe a support group where we could meet everyday or something all the while i could be doing research whether that means giving em pills or simply interacting with em. Like this one boy jamie from my high school he had aspergers he was lucky enough to have Ocd and the doctor put him on buspar which in my opinion doesnt work lol. So i asked him what about lexapro he said insurance didnt cover it otherwise that would be what he would be on. I of course had some but i also had some adderal which i wanted to see how he would react to it. He would sit in his room and play his xbox 360 everyday this was in the dorm by himself he would have rice krispie wrappers all over the place and root beer cans. I got tired of seeing it lol so i would make sure he got up every morning arranged to eat breakfast and after class wed go to a student center type thing where a bunch of kids liked anime outside of it plus there was another girl from our high school who he really didnt neccesarily like cuz he didnt like being hugged which is why she would hug him though i knew hed be more comfortable seeing one more familiar face from high school so yea i got him to go around ppl that he had similar obsessive interests with lol.

ASPERGERS AWARENESS IS GROWING EVERYDAY. i can only hope this doesnt lead to how adhd went and became such a popular diagnosis that it seemed everyone had it. However on this subject there are two movies i would suggest and yes they are on dvd MOZART AND THE WHALE its got josh hartnett in it i think he was from black hawk down and some other movies but also ADAM its about an aspie who has a relationship with a nt(neurotypical) aka normal girl. i gotta go to work but ill be back if we could start a chat room if anyone knows how that would be cool lol

I was looking for some information to do with the Disability Discrimination Act and I ran across this on the search results. When i read this forum it made me cry. Some of you will find this post a littile wired but please bear with me and all will be explaiend. I supose you could say that i am Severely Emotionaly / Psycologicaly Disabled but that would be incorect also. I have Aspergers Syndrome, Epilepsy, Severe Dyscalculia, Mild Dyslexia, traits of OCD, Reactive Depreshion and Im an Adult Baby. My baby age is 12 months and i hate being a big boy eaven though im 22. I only really grow up when i have to, aka when I go to college, etc...etc...
Adult Baby (AB for short) is a catigory of Infantilisim, the other main catigory of Infantilisim is Diaper Lover. Though other catigorys exsists such as baby fur (a person that wants to be a baby animal such as a puppy or kitten in diapers), non of these catigorys have anything to do with Child Pornography or Pedophilia. Indeed AB's are at risk from Pedophiles as much as children are. The Infantilisim community is strongly against Child Pornography and Pedophiles and we do are bit to iradicate them from society by reporting any websites we come across to both the police and as many parenting websites as we can. The idea being to create outrage in the online parenting communitys on mass and get the site shut down and the owner of the site behind bars. This is what we did with a website called yior-thecobb wich was run by a Pedophile called Brian Cobb who was stealling pictures of other peoples children in diapers and posting them on his website, thankfully he is now behind bars and his website shut down. However there is another website wich we in the Infantilisim community have come across wich we would like to bring to your attention. imgsrc.ru this is a website much like webshots except for the fact that if you type the word diaper in to the search box the majority of the albums that arnt password protected have images of children in diapers, many of wich are in nothing but diapers and some are eaven in sexual poses. Whats worse about this site, it seems that there are also albums on this website containing images of children in nothing but underware or less and once again some are eaven taken sexual poses. If that wasent bad enough the comeants that people post to these images clearly show that this is some kind of peadophile ring for swaping images and other meadia. this has been reported to the website Administrators and they have done nothing. It has futher been reported to the Rushian Police (.ru is a rusian Country Code Domain) and none in the Infantilism community has heard anything back from them. Over the Past week we have started posting notifications on parenting websites to gain support in an attempt to get this pedophile ring shut down for good. http://www.imgsrc.ru ↑

My name is Alex, I am 12 years old, and yes, I do have Asperger's Syndrome. It's a lonely way of life, mainly because you are an outcast and nobody understands you. I have a proffession in computers (did html at age 9, yes yes). I am currently using a PC with Mac OS X capabilities, since i spend so much time alone since nobody talks to me. I think it's wierd people call me a homo, and I just need somebody to relate to. OOH! And I love Star Trek! It's just fascinating!

Name: BabyJhonny | Date: Oct 17th, 2010 10:30 PM
@Agarner98: how did you manage to get a job in computing when your only 12 ? yes one of my computers has a MAC OS x Partion on it while another is an I MAC and a 3rd has 8 OS's on it including a MAC OS but thats the one with 6TB 16GB RAM, x64bit Intel I7-Quad Core x2 Quad SLI, 1200-WATT PSU and Liquid cooling are among some of its other features. No joke when i say i have 8 OS's.
As for Star Trek well running a car on water is not so star trek as you might think, a solid fuel cell is easy to build, and hydrogen gas is easy to make and Star trek is based on real science. Thats how i learnt that a Photon is an anti-Gravaton and a Gravaton is an anti-photon. ka-Plaha
