I need advice on how to stop 10 y old child from spitting constantly on the air, peoples faces, wheelchair tray and then wiping with his hands, floor, electronic equipment, mirrors, walls etc etc..... He is profound mentally handicapped. We have tried wiping his face with cold water on a washcloth, spraying face with water bottle or cover his mouth with a washcloth (gently) while saying : "We don't spit" or sign "stop". Nothing seems to help even though it has decreased as we keep him busy but then he starts yelling (tired of activity or bored) with arms up. We place hands down while saying softly: "Don't yell, soft voice". He rips clothing items, bibs, towels, toys, cheweys, you name it! he sure has a nice set of teeth! Please help with any of this issues!!!! Thanks! ↓
