Of course.
Look at the fatality rates in other countries..America has the highest amount of gun deaths each year..and thats because anyone bascially is allowed to go out and purchase a gun
Your not allowed to do that in australia. You have to go througha strick regieme..i know about maybe 2 people who have a gun..thats IT
Same with canada..they have a lower rate of gun related deaths
It really does come down to..everyones is allowed to do whatever the hell they want..and when they snap they go grab that gun and shoot up the place. ↑ |

I agree with that fat guy who does documentries on controversal subjects..i just cant remember his name ↑ |
Everyone wants tougher laws but then the bleeding hearts start going on and on about how these tougher penalties are not in the criminals best interest... WHATEVER!!! ↑ |
That guy wasn't even a citizen!!! How the hell did he get guns and ammo!! ↑ |
I agree criminals would still get them. But I think it would stop a lot like what happened to someones family in the other post. If there is a gun in the house and a couple gets into an argument, esp if there is alcohol involved...much more likely to bring a gun into it in the heat of the moment,, even if it is regretted later.
Also in "gun related deaths" we have to include all the kids that get ahold of Daddy's gun and shoot themselves or someone else accidently. Yes, I know people are supposed to keep them locked up, but kids get into things we all know that! I remember a case a long while back, a kid hid in a closet and popped out to scare her daddy when he got home (just to play). The guy shot first and asked questions later...and killed his own little girl. Just tragic. ↑ |
I dont think anyone on the planet should have guns....
I dont think anyone should have bombs, tanks...etc ↑ |
America has the least amount of gun laws than any other country. I am american and I am willing to give away my right to own a gun to help make this country a safer place! ↑ |
We share the same views on gun control M
I hate the things ↑ |
Is Michael Moore the one you're thinking of sezbi? ↑ |
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Micheal Moore!! Did any of you see Farenheit 9/11???? ↑ |
Many of the deaths each year that are due to guns are in the homes. They are due to non responsible gun owners, gun owners that dont take the time to secure them. Also many gun owners dont educate their children about them they hide them away then, the kid finds it and it becomes a great toy. I feel that there needs to be more mandatory education, not just for adults but for children as well. As Im sure many of you have hurd guns dont kill people do! I am a gun owner and my daughter has always been educated about the dangers of guns. She has also been taught that if used and handeled correctly they can also be enjoyable. My weapons are secure at all times, no... not under a bed or in a closet but in a 1500 lb steel safe. The problem isnt with guns, its with people and lack of education. ↑ |
I do recall hearing a story some time back where a 2 yr old apparently picked up a loaded pistol and shot his dad with it.What kind of parent would just leave a gun, especially a loaded gun just laying about for a child to get a hold of? ↑ |

GREAT POST!!! My feelings 100% ↑ |
I personally think that The United States need VERY strict gun laws. ↑ |
I always laugh when people say they should be able to have a gun for protection in the home. First off if the gun is unloaded in the safe, how are you going to get to it in time to use it. Realistically, the chances of you having to get out a gun to save yourself is next to nothing.
People should not have guns!!!! Let's face it, there is no such thing as freedom of speech and there definitely shouldn't be a freedom to bare arms. Simple as that!!! ↑ |
Too true Tara. My hubby worked for the public defender in FL as a paralegal and he said what usually ended up happening was the people ended up being shot with their own gun...the criminal would get ahold of it before the person, or struggle with them.....some protection huh]?? ↑ |
I Do not like them and dont care for them in my home.... ↑ |
Well I love to go to the range and out shoot my hubby. It feels good to hit a 300m target center mass more times than he can. I love my 9mm it is my other baby. I watched a child 5 years old get off a school bus and pet two really large dogs. When the little boy walked away they attacked him. The boys dad was standing on the porch when it happen. If he had not ran in and got his pistol the boy would have died. He killed one and wounded the other. The boy was in intensive care for 3 weeks due to the head trauma. This is one of them cases where is was a good idea. He had a trigger lock that had a 4 digit code to release the trigger. The owner actually tried to sue this man for killing her dog that would have killed his son. ↑ |
Thats when guns are ok.bugger the dogs owner trying to sue.like if someone breaks into your house and you shoot them defending yourself you would probly go to jail.some laws are just silly. ↑ |
actually as long as they fall inside the house you are in the clear. ↑ |
The owner never got anything but a lot of hospital bills. :-) ↑ |
I am realy glad australia's gun laws are so much stricter. I'm not saying that people wouldn't be able to get guns illegally, but after the Port Arthur massacre, the government changed the laws about automatic and semi-automatic weapons. You can see by the statistics sarah posted that america really needs to address their gun laws ↑ |
I agree jaxjos. America needs to adjust their gun laws. Hunting guns should be allowed with hunting licenses. Assault weapons should not be allowed. The killer at virginia tech was able to get his weapons legally with a green card! ↑ |
and that's why so many people died, apparently the police were hunting for someone else they thought was the killer in the 2 hr time gap while the killer was shooting away ↑ |
Keep in mind that while the percentage of gun-related crime in other countries may be lower, the percentage of violent crime in general is far greater.
When the criminals know lawful citizens don't carry a gun, they can rape or rob you with a knife instead. Criminals are all for gun control, because a woman can't fight back with a knife as well as she can with a gun. ↑ |
"The constitution is not relevant to the world we live in today." According to that statement you made freedom of religion, speech, the right to vote, and everything else that we take for granted here in the US does not apply today. Maybe you would be happier in North Korea where they don't have silly things like a constitution that guaranties the rights if it's citizens. In N.K. you can be executed/tortured for practicing a religion or saying anything even slightly critical of the government. You wouldn't even be able to type what you did. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. A gun is a tool that does not have a will of it's own. Personal responsibility and accountability needs to have a place. Blame and punish the person that murders or uses a gun in the commission of a crime, not the gun, and not gun owners. I keep a gun to protect myself and family from rapists and murders. I do so safely and legally. Nobody has ever been hurt with any one of my guns. If only Ted Kennedy could say the same of his car and his right to drive one. ↑ |
