OK I got a question for ya! Hope you don't mind!
Since my hysterectomy last month my hair has changed sooooo much. It gets greasy really fast. I color it and bleach it and even the bleached parts get greasy fast... within 12-16 hours after a shower. Its nasty! I asked my hair lady what to use on it and she had me buy paul mitchel tea tree shampoo, just for my roots. I don't put conditioner on the roots only on the ends..... GRRRRRR I need help! I knew that my hormones would be all out of whack but this is bad! It has to be what is causing it!???
I need your help!...PLEASE!!!

Cody - I am not momo but I will tell you this if you don't mind.

I had my hysterectomy almost 2 yrs ago & the same thing happened to me but it was only temporary. I had both ovaries along with EVERYTHING else taken out. I take hormones daily. If it is not TMI what about you?

she is correct the tea tree oil will help get the grease without drying it out...Or you can try a claryfying shampoo...but becareful cuz that can dry out hair if used to much...So make sure to use a conditioner...Don't use a heavy conditioner either.. that will weigh hair down..

Hey shelbysmom... I was lucky enough to keep my right ovary.Everything else is gone... cervix and all. It has been a hard road to recovery. I have a 9 month old. he has not made it easy since he is walking already! How was your recovery? this hair thing and bad dreams is mostly all the "bad things" that hormones would cause. I'm happy they were able to keep one ovary. The Dr said I was to young to start hormone therapy and did all he could to save what he could. Thanks for the info!

Momo, thanks! i have been using the tea tree shampoo for a few weeks and it is not helping yet, maybe I have to give it a lil longer? Will a claryfying shampoo be ok on the color?....

Cody - My recovery went really well. The only thing I noticed at first was the oily hair and the fact that I cried ALOT. After I started my hormones it all got better. I still have a few problems but hopefully since you have an ovary, you won't have the same ones = )
How are are you? I am only 33

here are some homeopathic remedies

Switch to beer. "Mousse dries the hair too much and clogs the pores," says Daines. He favors fresh beer as a setting lotion for oily hair. Store it in a closed plastic container in your shower, otherwise it will only keep for a couple of days.

Freshen up with lemon. Squeeze the juice of two lemons into a quart of the best water you can find, says Daines. Distilled water is a great choice. "This is a great rinse" to help cut oiliness.

Try an apple cider vinegar rinse. Try a teaspoon of vinegar in a pint of water and use as a finishing rinse. This solution acts as a tonic for the scalp and removes soap residue that can weigh down oily hair.

Also make sure you lather and give a good scrub...this will help get a good shampoo and rinse...You shouldn't use conditioner unless on the ends...Also i did read that make sure your shampoo is clear..that has less properties that will weigh down you hair...Wash everyday..If need be twice a day..Once your hormones get in check the problem will go away..or at least get better...
