I am a new stay at home mom to my 5 month old daughter Taylor. My husband and I decided I would stay home many years ago. Now that I've moved from the professional workplace with deadlines, to-do lists and meetings scheduled weeks out to my current situation of no real hard scheduled tasks, I feel a little lost. I'm thinking this is normal, but I'd like everyone's advice on how you overcame this and what your "typical" day looks like. I always feel best when I wake early, get the husband off to work, feed my baby, and get my workout in...however, that seems to happen only 25% of the time?! thanks for your input!!!!

I'm a stay at home mam to my 2-year-old son, Joey. Joey and I have lazy mornings, hubby gets up and goes off to work at around 8, and I let the dogs out to the garden, and get Joey and I our breakfast, and then we chill out, practice Joey's flashcards, watch some kids tv, read stories, that kind of stuff. I usually get my ass into gear around 10ish, when Joey has a snack and goes to play in the garden while I do some housework, vaccuum, polish, clean the dog-runs, mop, do some laundry etc etc etc, and after I'm done, after lunch, I usually take Joey out, shopping, swimming, to the park, to visit family, even out a walk with the dog to get us away from the house. If we do stay by the house, I'll maybe do some gardening and visit the neighbours so Joey can play with their kids, but we're always back home around 5ish so I can get the dinner on, and then I catch up on housework while Joey plays with his dad. It's a typical Joey and me day. I try to fit in some workout and 'me' time in the evenings after Joey is bathed and in bed. I used to do the 'routine' way of doing things, but I found life to be just like work and it doesn't have to be like that. Find a way of living life that makes you and your baby happy.
