Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to motherhood! My baby girl is 9 and a half weeks old and I want to know is it possible that she could be teething this early? I can almost see her teeth below her gums and she seems really irritable. Does anyone know?

it is possible, then again teeth can come up then go back down again without actually cutting. my nephew is 3 months old and is teething you can see his teeth just under the gums to. All you can do is give her some panadol to ease the pain and help her settle. I know its fraustrating but there isnt alot you can do.

That is actually what seems to be happening, some days they look like they are going to come through, and other days thay look like they have gone back down. I did give her some Panadol tonight because it took us over an hour to try and settle her to bed, and she only went to sleep about 20 mins after the Panadol. Poor thing, I wish sometimes she could just tell me what is wrong.

i know my sons 1 and a half and he still cant tell me whats wrong he's getting the last of his teeth and has been waking in the middle of the night and screaming and like i said all you can do is comfort them and try some panadol. Its horrible knowing somethings wrong and not being able to do anything.

Good morning Dana, I guess it's nearly morning here, 11.40pm! Thanks Alice for your advice, she seems to be sleeping OK now, so I think the Panadol has helped. She probably was in pain and we were stupidly trying to put her to sleep without knowing. I have heard of some babies being born with teeth, that's amazing! Maybe when the rest cut through, it wouldn't have been so painful for them.

I think they loose those teeth when they're born with them though...milk teeth they call them? So probably more of a pain than anything.
