I started givin my daughter plain rice cereal at for months. she is now two. But I think she was drinking like 6 to 8 oz every 3 to 4 hours.I think!!! I would make a 6 or 8 oz bottle in the morning and use two oz of it to make her cereal. I would feed her, her cereal and then give her the rest of the bottle. Just kinda depends on how much ur baby eats. Hope that helps a little!!

Hi Sahm. I have a 4 month old daughter, and I started feeding her cereal at 3 in a half months, and vegetables a week later. I started with the rice cereal, but I found that it constipated her really bad, so I switched to oatmeal and she was fine and even seemed to like the oatmeal much more. Like Angela2 said, it does depend on how much you baby does eat and what your baby likes. When my daughter wakes up in the morning I breast feed her, then I make her a small bowl of oatmeal mixed with prune juice, and then breast feed her again when she is done eating. At lunch, she eats half a container of a vegetable and half of a fruit (1st food container) then, at dinner, before bed I give her another bowl of oatmeal mixed with prune juice (prune juice helps if they get constipated from the cereal at the beginning) then breast feed her and put her to bed, and she is sleeping through the whole night now!

I started my son at 4 months, that is what my doctor recommended. He still drank an 8 oz. bottle, but i usually did one or the other.
