this is from my debate group on another site...This lady is a royal piece of work..thought you'd get a kick out her stupid iggnorance
im not sure if this topic has been brought up already. but im curious to see everyone elses opinion.
i look straight to the left hand when i see a young woman that is pregnant or pushing a stroller and if there is no ring, i cringe and think "oh my, another fatherless baby"... its horrible, i know. but to me, a live in boyfriend/baby daddy doesnt rock. and im sick of hearing people say "oh but my ex boyfriend is abusive and mean and he left me and yada yada yada"... well then why did you let him get you pregnant? it takes two to tango.
there are women who think "i can do this all by myself i dont need a man"... but is that fair to a child?? maybe thats why im so disgusted by it. women need to empower themselves. i mean, seriously, who wants to be a 22 year old single mom? its very sad. and i see it a lot on cafe mom. and i see a lot of excuses also. and i also see a lot of 22 year old single moms who date. and that disgusts me more then anything.
oddly enough, i dont look at a 40 year old whos divorced in the same light. i feel like, maybe shes given it time, let it marinate. now she knows for sure that her husband is a loser, so she left him.
its all situational, of course. but at first glance, thats my first thought. how does everyone else feel about it? ↓

Me personally would I look down on an unwed mother- No, hell I was one. We are married now and everything worked out. Is it something I would want for my children, absolutely not. I would wish them to not make the same mistakes as I and others have BUT I can not control every aspect of their lives as my parents could not me. Were they dissapointed in me, sure they were I was raised better and I will raise my children with the same value but things do happen.
This being said.. this woman says she looks for the ring and gets disgusted. Well some married people do not wear rings. The father could be deceased. There is no way by looking for a ring on her finger warrants the type of mother or relationship that mother has with her child or the childs father.

have never heard anything so ignorant in my life...not in the politcal posts nor the gay posts have i heard something more absurd. I understand you have an opinion, but you have no substance to you logic.
First, I choose not to be married to the father of my 4 month old..i was married before had a child with him and it ended in divorce..After being married to someone, i have realized that I do not need to be married to someone in order to make a commitment to them. My boyfriend is such a proud dad it almost make me laugh..He treats both my sons like gold..He works 50 hours a week so that i can stay home with them. He takes them out just to show them off..If he introduces me to people..the first thing they say is how much he talks about us.and that he actually never shuts up...He cooks for us..he cleans for us..Hes a proud daddy...
As far as dating...Well after i left my husband...i dated..I AM A GROWN WOMAN..i can date...only one person made it far enough to meet my son and that was my currant boyfriend..it took 2 months..Do you expect a woman to just sit around and do nothing. Why dont for once instead of passing such a harsh judgement on someone take a good look at yourself...cuz you seem to portray this holier than thou aura and honestly you have a lot you still need to work on... ↑ |
