Why do we deal with it in our home every month? I feel llike it is just an extra cycle for us. Tamyelle gets it and then I get it and then it starts all over again. We are on Omniceph once again. we just cycle through with the same 4 antibiotics and then we begin again.

Well what do you know I went to the DR this morning because it is protocol when she gets it because I am not far behind.....and
GUESS WHAT I have strep again! He recommended taking my tonsils out if I get it again in the next month. I heard that it becomes more risky when you are an adult. I don't know one of my sisters is going to have it done in about a week maybe I should just go lay up with her. LOL

It is a bacterial infection that can actually infect many areas of the body. Tamyelle is dealing with a rash and eye infection as well as her throat being yucky.Left untreated it can cause major long term problems with the heart and such

Winn, some times parents don't even know that their child has strep. The streptococcus's bacteria that causes symptoms can be in the body for 2-5 days before any symptoms show.

Well we tried pumping her full of herbal things and none of that worked either. She woke up this morning with a rash worse than before and she felt fine so after the nasty phone call from the school that informed me that they know she can not possibly be contagious after three days and that they will pursue this if she doesn't come back, I sent her sorry to all of the mothers who get a strep infected kid but she has missed so much school with this (about 3 weeks this year) that she needs to go and I know that but I hate making other kids sick. We are having another flu epidemic so they won't see her again unless it lasts for more than a week or she has a fever. I have no idea what to do. I am waiting for them to call me when she freaks out because she has red stool! Gotta love the omniceph.lol
