I was looking to see if anyone has a child who has developed a tic? My daughter is 5 and has a "tic" she seems to only tic while excited about something. She makes a jaw movement and a hand movement at the same time. I havent spoken with a doctor at this time, because of all of the fears of medications etc. I was wondering if a child has a tic of this nature does that mean she has ADD or ADHD too?? Thank you-

you should see a doctor because she may have tourettes syndrome, from what i have learned alot of disorders are present with adhd but not all children display it. it would be best to get her tested and go from there there are other methods than medication you just have to seek them out. knowing what the disorder is, is more helpful to her and to you. she will learn to work with and around her disorder and you will have peace of mind she getting the services she needs and having an understanding of the disorder which aloows for understanding her. it a win win situation good luck

Thank you for your reply. I will have her see her doctor. The internet is a scary place and a great place to research. I am just a bit nervous... Thank you for your advice and time. I appreciate it.
