Me neither and the whole thing doesn't make sense to me. Just because AOL may be your ISP doesn't mean much. You can still access the net through internet explorer and access a site that has AOL blocked because you went through explorer and not AOL to access the site. It seems like the programmers need a better solution to me. ↑ |
I agree Jess,
Temporary blocking AOL is not a long term solution. ↑ |
From what I understood on Friday from Les- they were only doing this as a temporary solution. Because it was late on Friday- and that they were looking for a perm.- solution this week and into who was behind all the nasty posts.

Still awaiting resolution from AOL regarding the friday horrible spam.
I will be keeping everyone posted regarding that issue ↑ |
"I agree Jess,

That is the only one we have so far, since AOL uses different IP for every request - the spammer will be ragistering new e-mail and posting spam again regardless of all the blocks.
It is of course not a permanent solution but we'd rather keep some people out for a little while, than let this horrible messages appearing everytime, and having users deeply offended, and as in the Friday's case, fearing for their lives. ↑ |
I guess I am just not optimistic we can come up with a permanent solution because these posters just keep coming up with new emails to register with thanks to free yahoo and hotmail accounts - it's not just AOL. So as soon as you ban one they just get another. Anyone know if other forums have found a way to solve this issue?
