Hi-

I just found out from a mutual friend that a supposed BM I was hearing from Lucy W, is a scam, because another adoptive mom on here, got the identical pictures sent to her by Kellie Swick.

Anyway, stay away from Kellie Swick/ Lucy W.

I'm so sorry Carolyn.

I'm sure it didn't mean a damn thing to her (him?), but I feel better from sending a note making sure it was understood the experience was not going to spoil me for trying to adopt and furthermore did not change my high regard for REAL potential and active birthmoms. I said a few other things that I won't get into, but I'm happy to say I didn't sling insults, which is what I would like to have done. I really do wonder what kind of sick individual gets off on strictly hurting others. Money scams are bad enough, but this person just enjoyed the game. Too bad we didn't know we were playing, huh? And someone said recently to me that she wouldn't work with anyone she found out had checked up on her, as is was insulting, because I'd been asking after Kellie. Apparently, I should have checked up even more and sooner!

Sorry Amy and Carolyn that you were both taken in by a scammer. It really stinks!

Thanks Mary for your thoughts-

There are some nasty people who like to prey on infertile couples. Sadly we have been there before.

I am so sorry for you too Amy.

Hugs-

Even minus the pictures, I've talked directly to another lady to whom Kellie was promising things. So, Kellie at least was playing games. I've never had dealings with anyone named Lucy, but if that means you weren't personally being toyed with then that's wonderful, and I hope Lucy does see your apology and accept it.

Kellie wrote me back, which surprised me greatly, and basically said, "Believe whatever you want." I mentioned just a couple of things the other lady and I had both been told and the inconsistencies and left it at that. If she wasn't out to hurt anyone, she's got a lot of growing up to do for 21 years old. It isn't like she was just considering more than one couple. She'd committed to us both.

I don't know if Lucy is a scam or not but, I also recieved an email from a Lucy. She was about 5 months pregnant. She sent me pictures of herself. She had medium length to long hair. Her hair was very dark and her eyes eyes were brown. She said she was in college doing her mid terms. She seemed very interested and said she was definitely doin adoption. Then I never heard back from her. I don't know if she wasn't for real. Or if she was not interested in us or if she changed her mind. I just thought I would put my 2 cents in just in case this is the same Lucy.

Good luck to all,
Michelle
