Adoption facilitators are middlemen (women): they can help bring those hoping to adopt in contact with those making an adoption plan. Adoptions are ONLY completed through attorneys, agencies, and state entities.
NO state has a mandatory adoption-specific licensing procedure, and not all states allow facilitators to operate. Adoption facilitators are NOT regulated and there is NO state or federal oversight of their activities. They do not even requierd to have a business license.
Facilitators are NOT required to have any education or experience in the field of adoption / foster care, child development, psychology, counseling, crisis intervention, or even business management.
While some adoption facilitators are knowledgeable and ethical, many are not, and it falls to adopting parents tor pregnant women to do their homework!
