First of all you usually must be a legally recognized member of that tribe. It helps to be related to the child. Sadly being friends with a foster parent to the child does not usually help. If this child is Native American and they are still trying to reunify this child with a birthparent that takes precedence over all else. Also the Tribe has All the say on placement of this child. So I do not see any way that they will even discuss your being considered for this child. Also is this child even legally adoptable at this time? Are you in the same state? Do you have a homestudy done and approved? Good Luck
