Goggle most names. Erin81. Do your own nickname and see what all comes up. That is the first step then take a good look at who says what and remember people lie on the internet.

At the risk of seeming blunt, most times all you have to do is read the entire thread before you post.

I totally agree. It is horrible when you can't tell the difference between someone who really wants and needs help from people who are just trying to get money. The people that are true and sincere your afraid to trust for fear of getting dooped. Why are scammers on here anyway???????? Do they just get their freaking jollies out of hurting people? All I know to do is trust everyone unless it is obvious they are a cameroon but, if they are asking for money that is a no go. That is all I know to do because, I would really like to help someone that needs it. Have any of you been called repulsive for wanting to adopt. I have and I really don't see what is so repulsive about wanting to help someone. What are all of your thoughts on this?

Love,
Michelle

Michelle, There are worse people than Cameroon. Try Janet. She will take you on a roller coaster ride you will never forget. There isn't a thing wrong with wanting to help someone or anything wrong with wanting a baby. You just have to be smart about it.

I was recentely scam and lost over a thousand dollars. I want
every one to know the e-mail of the scammer is
[email protected]
he will promes to get you any kid any age you want and he is located in Cameroon. It also say frank petshome from the e-mail. Stay away from that guy I have call the FBI and sending
all e-mails to them. This guy has the nerve to call himself
Father Frank from the Baptist Church Ophanage in Douala Cameroon. His phone numbers are 237-981-7888 and
237-456-5542 and 905-647-4160 and 237-477-1237
he will ask you to pay by money gram and went so far as to stage an air port e-mail and phone number one of the upbove
and ask me to pay for a flight for my suppose baby by money
gram. Even sent pictures of a baby and a birthcertificate with
my name as the mother which I suppose paid him for a lawyer
to do the paper work. He willsay the adoption is free and you just have to pay for the paper DO NOT DO IT YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY. he even say God Bless you SO watch out
he mayuse another e-mail but check the phone numbers
on your caller ID and he all ways says call back when he calls
because you get stuck with the phone bill.

Sorry but anyone that sends money to anyone in Cameroon really did not do Your homework] Its all over the internet and has been for some time not to send any funds to Anyone their as its a Known Scammers haven that country and Nigeria. Sad to hear you lost money but before Anyone sends anyone funds do your homework If You cannot prove they are legit then save yourself the heartache and funds do not send it. Anyone looking to send money to Cameroon look up Cameroon adoption scams on google. Also their is a USA government warning about sending funds to that country. As well as the fact that alot of those that scam in Cameroon want the money sent thru western union using a secret message or password and a question that is their was of NOt having to prove whom they are as long as they know that magic answer poof Your money is Gone. Best wishes, anyone with a 237 area code is in Cameroon.

Michelle I wouldn't use the word repulsive but when you describe your manic hunt for a newborn baby when you can have children of your own and then say it is because you "want to help someone" when youreally want to help yourself. I call that misleading and not as grand a gesture as you seem to think t is.

It's good to post scammer information in this forum. It becomes searchabl a few days later in major search engines like yahoo and google. Then when another adoptive parent is unsure and googles the email address of name and sees this post, they will be aware that this is a scammer. I also recommend posting scammer situations on adoptionplan.com forums. I know that gets picked up my major search engines.

I hate to say it, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I agree! Here is someone who scammed my husband and I with a sad story of an orphaned baby boy 6-7 months old.

These
guys went as far as pretending to be someone from the US Embassy! It was sad and pathetic- thank God we only lost time and money spent on preparing a nursery!
