We all have our stories to tell about Autism, our children, and the hardship of it all. My journey with Autism is a bit over 19yrs and it is a journey which brought me so much closer to my Faith in God. So much so that I am glad and happy to have my son just the way he is because it gives me the opportunity on a daily basis to reflect on life, give gratitude for all the many blessings in our lives and reminds me that nothing should be taken for granted. My son's smile is a profuse joy in my heart. God is infinitely kind and filled with mercy for us. Our lives are in HIS hands. The strength I receive for daily struggles, I know come from Heaven. I hope you all find strength, guidance and above all, comfort in God, our Father.

Dear Mondo,

Thank you for writing such nice things, they are very helpful especially when faith starts to go away and frustration, anger and depression start hitting. Reading your emails kinda of slap me back into reality and make reappreciate my role as a mother of 3 autistic kids.

I would like to talk to you more as to how you handled temper tantrums, behavior problems,etc...with your son. Please email me at [email protected]

Thanks,

Sylvia

Today I heard of "The Ashley treatment". Parents of a child born witha brain problem who cannot move at all, but from her pictures, she smiles, eats when fed etc. Her parents decided it would be in her good interest and to the caregivers (them), to remove from her body any growth capabilities (surgically and hormonally) to keep her from getting any bigger in size and weight, to keep her at 75# and less than 5 feet, this would make it easy for everyone to care for her......
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO? Is this compassion? Is this self service? Nay to the former, yes to the latter. People do not want to know anything about pain or suffering, they are going to miss out on learning anything of value in this lifetime. Poor children, those who are to be born into the lives of people who dismiss the sacredness of life. What will stop society from pointing the finger at the mentally disabled from being tampered with to make us 'happy"? It is already being done in some parts of the "civilized" world...certainly God is not a part of their lves.
We are not to judge one another but common sense has a voice and a place for a reason.

I'm a Christian. My child with ASD is only here because of God. And he is a gift. We have had some healing of the ASD. If you read about what Dr. Mary Megson says... it's so interesting. And your child might benefit. I would love my child no matter what. But it's a joy to have him finally start to try and talk again and the head-banging, hand-flapping and twirling are GONE. He has good eye contact and he is finally hugging a toy. There is still damage... but we thank God for the healing he's had. God bless you!!!

Cod
liver oil really helps.... not only the autistic brain but it also will boost any person's immune system. The healing is gradual. My son, has been healing gradually from ASD with CLO and other supps. There;s more Dr. Megson info on the web. Also check out Dr. Yasko at www.holistichealth.com. Love, Jack's Mom
