Has anyone had any problems with swimming lessons for their HFA children? Any advice?

I put my duaghter (5) in private swimming lessons last summer. She had a really patient teacher and it went well. She really loved it and was sad when lessons ended. The progress was slower than usual, so I was glad she was in private lessons. At least with my daughter I don't know what would happen in group lessons. I'm not sure if she would be considered high functioning. She talks in 4 or 5 word sentences, but is not off bottles or diapers. The only negative was that she did have some regression I believe related to being in the chlorine. It wasn't immediate, but after two weeks of swimming each day, it seemed to be hard on her. So for a few weeks following lessons she was not doing as well. But I assume this is probably not an issue with most kids. We have since been filtering all the water in our home to get the chlorine out and it has helped her. I don't know what we'll do next summer when she enjoyed it that much. We may try one or two lessons each week for a longer period of time. She is super sensitive to everything imaginable. So if your child is not like that with other things, I doubt it would be a problem. The actual swimming part of it was just fine. The second day she proclaimed "It's a dream come true." She's very into princesses and that was her way of saying that she was very thrilled to be able to swim again.
