Today was my son’s biggest achievement he touched his nose and said nose.

I have been trying to teach my sons that for two years and today one of them did it. I was so happy I just cried and clapped my hands at him cheering him on.

It’s the small things that parents of “normal” children take for granted where as for me this is a huge milestone and I rang everyone to let them know.

I am just beaming today I am so proud of my little man

YAY!!!!! I am so happy for you and your "little man" That's wonderful! Good for him and Good for you for working so hard with him and for allowing yourself to be so proud of this wonderful acheivement. I completely understand, as most parents here probably do, your excitement over each milestone. That is what makes our relationship with our children so special....we don't take anything..even the smallest of achievements for granted. Congratulations!

Hi Rachtwins,

I am so happy for you, you are right parents of "normal" kids do not seem to appreciate the small things that their kids do and take it for granted, I took my kids to the Disney on Ice this past weekend, and I don't usually take my 9 yr old Jake, because he is the one that will not sit still for more than 5 minutes, but I felt guilty leaving him, like all previous years, and I wanted to cry out of happiness when I saw him clapping and laughing at the appropriate times and he even pointed, and best of all he sat still the whole 2 hours!!. It made me realize that there is hope for our kids, we just have to be patient, it is hard but at the end we get our rewards. I wish you lotsa of luck and continue working with your son.
