Is this child verbal or non-verbal? My son is 12 and I am just now learning about writing social stories. Even very high functioning children can understand words and even sentences, but not the concept until that is presented visually through a story about the problem and situation. Let me know if you need more information on this. It really does seem to help. ↑ |

eric is 6 yrs old. he can speak. some of it is prompted. he has been down to the kennedy institute but he doesnt go there regularly. i dont know about social stories. but we use pecs. maybe we could use a picture of no hitting. ↑ |

i think u should talk to the parents about getting a in home worker to come in everyday to do programming routine is a big part of an autistic childs life and yes the pecs with NO HITTING on them work ↑ |

hello auntsandy24c here again. as i said down on 2nd response, eric really only comes to school. he has been evaluated at many places but school is only point of help. i have been using sign language and pecs both with words of no hitting. i might be my imagination but he might be better. dont know till the 2 day week because of holiday. ↑ |

my son has the no hitting pec and the no bitting pec and once he new what they meant he stopped ↑ |

Try a book called when my worries get to big and then look at a book called 5 point scale. Maybe your son just needs learn ways to let you know i feel.......... When we know what they need we can help. I is hard when we as paernts have to guess. ↑ |
