About it being painful honestly I never had a major pain problem; nothing that would EVER deter me from breastfeeding. One thing to keep in mind when starting is that breastfeeding may not be as natural as you may think. There is a learning curve for both you and your baby so do NOTbe discouraged. There are many women in the hospital to help and if you ever need anyone to talk to about it I am sure you can find a wonderful support system through LeLache or even a website like Kellymom.com. Good Luck and don't ever worry about it hurting! It truly doesn't!

It does hurt for the first couple of weeks just the latch on but after that your fine.
